Casino promotions question

Can someone explain to me the difference, or distinction between a retail GIFT card and a retail GAS card??
Hypothetically, I am given a promo offer invitation to come in to a CET property, like Harrah's for example, somewhere in the USA...the invitation offers either a free amount of slot play OR a GIFT card to a company like, for instance, PILOT or Speedway. While it's true Pilot/Speedway does sell gas at it's retail locations, is it really accurate to call the GIFT card a "gas" card??? I think it's misleading, even outright erroneous...some people participating in the promotion, like seniors, may not or no longer drive, therefore gas is of little utility them...
I myself no longer drive either due to my disability, so I always take the slot play. That means I never have to stand ( or in my case sit, lol) in any line to acquire such GIFT card... If I had to accept the card I guess I'd be forced to use it on ice cream or hot dogs depending on what the place offered...back in California years ago when I could still drive, all the Pilots and Speedways had dairy queens attached!
What are the thoughts of others here, in terms of how their promotions are actually..."promoted".... In terms of wording or description? Do you find them misleadingly overdoing it on the "wow" factor? Nothing bothers me more than misleading language on promotions...except maybe poison oak, racists and people who refuse to wash hands after using the water closet....
