You could play Super Times for 500 years...

Post by trumpforprez16 »

...all day, 24/7, and still never hit a Royal x10.

The game is frustrating as hell and I question the so-called "payback". You could literally put tens of millions into these dumb machines and win nothing.

Trumpforprez16, Are you also trumpforprez20 and even 24??

Whichever, I wish you good luck in your quest for either multiplier royals or dealt royals particularly on multi-play machines. I might also suggest that you double your multiplier fun with Double Super Times Pay. Of course, there is additional risk in that move.

It may be true that you could play for 500 years without either, but you can also get quite lucky in a couple months.

About 4 years ago, I played a lot of Double Super Times Pay Bonus Deuces quarter 5-play. My definition of a lot since I was working was a couple nights a week from 3 to 5 hours per evening and once or twice on the weekend. When you play that much multi-play you do tend to get a few royals over the months. Eight months through the year, after accumulating maybe ten royals (and losing money overall), I had observed that every single royal was with NO MULTIPLIER. Since one gets a multiplier every 7 or 8 hands with DSTP, I was beginning to be skeptical whether the results with multipliers were random or if I was simply unlucky.

I pretty much always quit whenever I was lucky enough to spike a royal, but at $8.75 a play, hitting a royal wasn't always enough to assure that I won money during any given session. For some reason one Friday night/Saturday early a.m., after hitting a royal drawing to JTK of spades just after midnight, I decided to stay a while longer. I had moderate luck and then just a bit less than two hours later, I was DEALT a spade royal KQJTA (I realize this was not on 10 play, but I was ecstatic on 5 play). Since I was playing DSTP, I waited … anticipating … hoping for the multiplier "reel" to start moving and making sounds. Those who play DSTP know that any such dealt multiplier automatically would have paid those royals off at 20 times. This would have been $100,000 … and I wasn't even playing in the high limit area. Alas, that didn't happen, and I had to be satisfied with a $5,000 payoff on top of the $1,000 that I had earned earlier that evening, easily the most that I had ever won on a single hand. But now again, I had even more royals with no multipliers.

Within an hour of exactly two weeks from that first spade royal, I drew to JQT of spades, struck out on 4 of the 5 hands, but hit the royal on the other one and got a 10x multiplier. So, the first multiplied royal I got was 10x. I'm guessing if I was going to program machines so that royals didn't come up much with multipliers, I would also program the ones that did hit to be small multipliers.

Four and six weeks later, I hit two more royals, hearts this time, again drawing two cards to a 3-royal. The evening after the 2nd heart royal, once again I got a multiplier royal, in hearts, and it was again 10x. Shortly thereafter, the casino downgraded all their DSTP machines, and I no longer could justify the already negative play at the volume that I had been playing.

I recognize that the odds are pretty incredible that both my multiplier royals were at the 10x level. Those odds would even be worse if the machines were rigged so that the multipliers were negatively correlated with hitting big hands. This personal anecdote does nothing to suggest what will happen to me in the future or to others anywhere. But my faith in the randomness of the multipliers regardless of hand strength was restored.

Best of luck to you.

I've got them on my phone. I should probably change my name to New2PostingPics since I have never done that. And I haven't been New2vp for a while.

I think I saw Tedlark put a step-by-step how-to post pics entry somewhere. If you, he (or someone) can copy that over to this thread, I will try. Vman, I know you are a pro at pics, but I haven't added that to my skill set yet.

Evidently I wasn't clear about the dealt royal. I did not get either the deal or the draw multiplier on the dealt royal. The reason that it was $5,000 was because it was 5-play, all 5 hands were quarter royals with no multiplier.

HI JDW;

I waited to see if webman or anyone else would respond before I did. Here's how I did the above:

1 - Click on Full Editor & Preview, then

2 - Click on Attachment, then

3 - Click on Add File, then

4 - Click on Add Picture, then click the picture you want to add and insert it, then

5 - Click on Place Inline

6 - If you want to check the picture you can click on preview to see it or you can just click on Submit and the picture will appear.

Hope this helps.

Ted

Thanks Ted, I will try and use this later this weekend or early next week. See, I also need to get the picture from my phone gallery to a computer. I know, I know. I have never taken the time to even do the simple stuff … unless it involved a little math. Different interests for different souls.
