The good part of the Covid pandemic is all casinos are nearly smoke free in slot area. Hope law enforcement can ban smoking from now on.

Very true, best health benefit of all.
Every worker in the casino that i talk to are rabidly in favor of a forever smoking ban.
There is an outdoor smoke break area at our casino and usually has 0-5 smokers.
Place is as full as ever. I think smokers would tolerate a ban without staying home.
They are 12% of the adult population why should the other 88% suffer because of their stupidity?
Restaurants, stores and lot's of other public and private spaces have led the way with no repercussions why would casinos be different?
Hope the powers that be are thinking this way but i doubt it.
Wonder if a non-smoker protest (peaceful of course) would go anywhere if they go with smoking again.
Maybe "NON-SMOKERS LIVES MATTER" t-shirts? :)

Non-smoking gets my vote. In person or mail in or absentee or all three. :D

I hate cleaning ashes from the buttons and arm rests. :x

I too believe playing VP keeps my mind more alert which at my age is a full-time chore. It tends to doze off on me or go to other places. I'm not sure which places or even when sometimes. I just recognize its been gone for awhile but it won't tell me where it went or with whom.

Agree on all three LL.
I have not encountered a chair with arm rests in a casino(mind maybe someplace else at the time). :D

There is some anecdotal evidence that playing card games or other games in a manner where decisions are made quickly (with attempted accuracy) is indeed beneficial to a reduction in cognitive decline. However, to do so in a casino environment under normal circumstances, you would be wiping out any possible benefits because of both second-hand smoke and long periods of physical inactivity. If you have now found a casino environment that is completely smoke-free, then that changes part of the equation. Change the rest of it by getting up and moving around every 45 minutes or so. Additional casino health benefits can be found by parking as far away from the casino as possible, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, and of course, always being choosy at the buffet.

Once you know basic strategy, about 98% of hands are no brainers. I'm not sure sitting at a machine, hours on end, and playing by rote is very stimulating mentally. Toss in the smoke and a couple of drinks and its like ordering a pizza and a diet coke.
