Assuming you are, indeed, referring to triple double bonus, the strategy of keeping only the pair of aces when dealt two pair, including two aces, is appropriate. But, applying the same strategy to dealt hands of two pair, one pair of which is kings, queens or jacks, rather than drawing to the two pairs is a somewhat inferior play.
It's also why again, I don't do Double Double or Triple Double when I play Ultimate X because a 10 credit Two Pair gives me more incentive to keep it as is instead of 5 and I find that I make even more than I normally would with the multipliers in play. On a different game that is NOT Ultimate X when I do play DDB or TDB, I know four of the same face card is worth only 250 versus 800 for four Aces with no kicker, but that's still worth more than a Full House and if I'm dealt a pair of face cards that's worth 5 just like a Two Pair and if I'm not going for a 12X, then I don't see why that's a bad thing to throw the other pair and go for a quad.

The likelihood of hitting a quad (worth 250 credits) drawing to a pair, is about one in 360. The likelihood of hitting a full house (usually worth 45 credits) drawing to two pair is 4/47, or, slightly better than one in 12. So, on average, you will accumulate about 30 full houses for each quad you hit. Which would you rather have, one 250 credit quad, or thirty 45 credit full houses?

Granted, there are other improvements available for the draw to one high pair, but their value does not make it the better play.

I see what you are saying. Of course, that doesn't change the fact that a Two Pair or other hands like Straight, Flush, or Three of a Kind are more frequent and pay less so even if I do get more Full Houses than Four of a Kinds, it could be difficult to see the accumulation from going for them when factoring in the luck I'm having during a session. I guess I'm the type that would play till I get a high paying Four of a Kind and then quit after the big win or once I broke even after too many bad hands, because only then do I see the money. Maybe sticking to Bonus Poker for every game is the best way for me to go.

Bob Dancer addresses this every so often in his LVA blog. I suggest reading some of those.

Again, there are many players like him who play VP based on their own hunches.

Even not holding suited ace ten is a surprise to them.

For the last 20 minutes, I've been trying to get some of those dealt 2 pair hands on the videopoker.com app. So far the only ones I've gotten were with aces. I also keep getting these crappy hands.

Overall, my experience in playing ult x both website and casino has been an exercise in futility. A little luck here and there but overall a big loser. Much more luck playing straight up old fashioned VP.

I couldn't agree more. Devastated after my lone UX casino experience recently. Never again.

It depends on how you play it. For me, this is a significantly positive game.
