I'm thinking this is a good game. Max bet is 50 units ($2.50). I found it in at Harrah's Cherokee in NC.
What's your opinion?

Looks like 9/6 JOB, which is a good (but boring) game.

That's what I was thinking, thanks for your reply.

It is probably only 9/6 full royal payout at the 50 coin bet. The royal at a 5 coin bet probably pays 1250 coins instead of 4000 coins.

Yes Waiting, at first I was playing 30 coins but then decided to play 50, taking advantage of the extra if I were to hit a RF.
Whatever it was, I noticed I should be earning more comps than video bj.
good luck!

Maybe 1500. A lot of hese games tend to up the payout a bit for 5 or more coins, then have a bigger jump at the end.

Great find for Cherokee though.

Thanks!
What I'm most excited about is the comps (learned from Bob's book).

Try to hold your excitement down a bit over your impending comps, if you can.

9/6 JoB is a 99.54% game. Which is excellent for a nickel player. (Excellent for all players, actually. Far more than 99% of video poker games in this country return less than that.) As mentioned previously, you get full value for the royal on these machines betting five coins (25 cents) or more. Betting at this level, at a rapid 800 hands per hour, you'll get $100 of coin-in per hour, which is 10 Reward Credits in the Harrah's system. Those 10 RCs can be redeemed for a penny if you spend it at certain venues. A half of a penny if you spend them at certain others --- or redeem them for free play.

You also earn 10 Tier Credits during that hour. Tier Credits aren't spendable. They are used to determine if you've earned various higher tiers. You start out at Gold, and earn Platinum if you earn 5,000 or more TCs per calendar year. At 10 TCs per hour, it will take you 500 hours of play to earn this level. They have TC bonuses, but they start when you earn 500 TCs in a day. Even if you play 50 coins at 800 hph, it takes you ten hours in a day to earn this bonus.

The higher tier levels (Diamond, Diamond Plus, Diamond Elite, and Seven Stars) are basically not available to nickel players because they require more coin-in than you can possibly get through a nickel machine.

You will likely not get mailers playing this machine. The Harrah's system is not set up to reward nickel players well. Still, there are sometimes promotions where you can earn a gift after earning 50 TCs or so. Those promotions will be available to you.

Still, they do have free beverage service (non-alcoholic at Cherokee) for all players, including nickel players. Playing at only a half-percent disadvantage is a MUCH better game than most nickel players can hope to get.

Ahhh the good old days when I could play 9/6 JoB for 5, 10 or 15 cents!

I guess it all depends on your perspective. My time is worth too much to me at this stage.

A $40 royal? I find a $40 full house to be underwhelming. But then I'm not playing for fun.
