Found this one at the Isle in Pompano Beach, Fl.
It's a version of DDBP, but with deuces wild.

Is the available here?

We have Deuces Wild Double Bonus available, with payouts for 2's with an ace kicker, and separate payouts for A, 3-5 etc.

Are you saying the pay table also has payouts for a natural Aces with kicker, 3-5's with kicker etc?

Any chance you snapped a photo of the pay table?

I'm guessing that rayj's game is not the normal Deuces Wild Double Bonus that Webman was describing. You can see a write up here of the hybrid game, Deuces Wild Double Double Bonus, that is consistent with Webman's guess as an alternative:

https://wizardofodds.com/games/video-po ... ble-bonus/

It is a 6-coin Deuces Wild game where the 6th coin allows for increased payouts for quads in the Double Double Bonus categories that are not Four Deuces plus it pays 6 coins for 3 of a Kind rather than 5 coins. Note that some of the natural payoffs are larger than the standard DDB payouts.

Following is a pay schedule along with an EV calculation that Gary Koehler submitted on a Wizard of Vegas forum 6 years ago:

Hand Pays Probability Return
Natural royal flush 800 2.15E-05 0.017172235
Four deuces 200 0.000190502 0.038100447

Nothing 0 0.546713866 0

Total Return 1.184428365 (if the coin-in per hand were 5 coins)

Other pay schedules are available.

That looks simple enough. I do wonder on AAA22 if I would keep both of the 2s or try to draw an ace.

Yep, that is a reasonable ponder. It is easy enough to calculate the max-EV hold between AAA2 and AAA22. Using 1-coin payoffs, standing pat is worth 12. If you hold AAA2, you can draw the 1 remaining ace to gain 388 (400 - 12), one of the 2 remaining deuces for no gain (12 - 12), or one of the 44 other cards for a loss of 8 (4 - 12). [388 x 1] + [0 x 2] + [(-8) x 44] = 36, which is positive. So, the max-EV play is to toss one of the deuces and hope! This is a simple enough calculation that some might be able to do even in their head.

But that, as Eduardo suggests, is not the entire story. Holding the 4-cards AAA2 will only yield a gain for you (albeit a big one) 2% of the time (when you draw that ace), while you will actually lose 40 coins 94% of the time (5 x -8; when you draw any of the cards that are not an ace or a deuce). Who likes of odds of losing 40 coins that often? I guess perhaps a lot of video poker players, but it would not be unreasonable for some to want to pocket the winnings and move on to the next hand.

Even if you were playing 10-play, 81% of the time that you toss one deuce, you WILL be worse off than if you had decided to stand pat with the quints. But I'm guessing most that are playing 10-play would in fact go for it even though they will lose more than 4 times out of 5.

It is a harder calculation to determine if you might want to toss both deuces, and draw 2 cards to trip aces. After all, that way you get two chances to draw the ace (to win at least 1000 coins) while the remaining card could still be a deuce, three of four (to get you that second thousand coins). It is clearly more likely for you to get quad aces drawing two cards, but it turns out that the EV is slightly less than if you just stood pat with the trip aces enhanced by the pair of deuces OR if you wanted to toss just one deuce.

Another interesting hold decision occurs if you are dealt 5 of a kind with 3 deuces. Here, I think it looks like you will always want to toss the natural pair to take advantage of maximum EV. Again, holding only the deuces will lose 40 coins a considerable amount of the time compared to standing pat; but even if you don't draw a deuce, you can also get some wild royal flushes and straight flushes when drawing to 3 deuces. So, I would guess that more would want to gamble by holding 222 and tossing the natural pair to get a higher EV while risking the likely chance that the actual win will be lower.

Correction to penultimate post: "deuce, three of four" should have been "deuce, three OR four".
