Gold Mine Bonus Poker

Post by DaBurglar »

Has anyone played Bally's  "GOLD MINE BONUS POKER" (GMBP)     recently in a casino NOT located in AC (perhaps, say, Vegas or elsewhere?)What have been your experiences, success or failure with this game?    Please, I really would like to know,  including where in Vegas you've played this game.I do not want to RANT about AC again, so I will just limit myself in this thread to say that, when I have played Gold Mine Bonus POker in any AC casino, the results clearly are the work of a machine that has been set, or programmed, to totally return almost nothing to the player(s) over time.   But I like the game itself, I think it is (or could be at least) a lot of fun and I really want to give it another good try in a casino NOT located in New Jersey.for those of you unaware or curious, GMBP is just like regular Bonus Poker's paytable and functionality except for two key differences:   Two Pair only pays 1 for 1 , and a full house initiates the FUN bonus feature whereby a random screen appears asking the player to choose three out of five gold mine piles to reveal the total credits awarded for the FULL HOUSE!     The rules state the total payout for the full house will ALWAYs fall within the range of a MINIMUM of 60 credits to a Maximum of 1000.       However, in my 40,000 plus total hands playing GMBP over 4 years at Trump Plaza and the Taj, as well as the AC club (and a little bit at the golden nugget), My average Fullhouse payout was 70 credits, and my frequency for hitting fullhouses was exactly one HALF what you'd normally expect.       But it is the bonus feature that I want other players from nevada and elsewhere to report on:DID ANYONE ever actually get 1000 credits for a Fullhouse, or if not, what was the maximum you ever received for a full house???I greatly appreciate any and all input!

Actually in Jeopardy you're supposed to give the answer in the form of a question, example being:

Q: They backed up Buddy Holly in his first days.

  A: Who are The Crickets.

wow that is curious.    The game comes on BALLY's game menu coupled with another "gold Mine Bonus" game called Gold Mine Keno.....then there are several other Bally's classics like DDBP, and a couple SLOT games on the menu.    Bally's went for a diversified gaming experience back in the late 90s and these games led the way I guess.    Stil, I cannot believe there are NONE in the Vegas market!   In all my 20 plus years in Vegas I never saw this Ballys game either, but then again I was not looking for it and furthermore, I would most likely have ignored it in favor of better games. Nonetheless, if any other readers have seen GMBP in Vegas let me know thanks

They used to have 2 1$ machines at Agua Caliente Casino in Palm Springs. It was an interesting diversion from the regular VideoPoker. I was saved from several losing sessions when I triggered the Gold Mine Feature with a Full House. On average it paid 75-120$ during the bonus.

Now that's useful and interesting info, Thanks mr. Perserverance!!!     glad I perservered with this otherwise dead thread! The reason I say that your info is useful is that, you claim you received betwixt 75 to 120 bonus credits on your Full House featurette.......well, when I played the GMBP game at the Trump PLAZA (there are two machines there), I typically received exactly what you claimed, a bonus payout around 80 to 100 (on average).   Remeber the "help" section on the game info screen for GMBP says the player will receive betwixt 60  to  1000 credits, quite a range!  But on any game I played in AC I never received anything even remotely near the high end (or even the middle range).... There used to be two GMBP games at Resorts but they disappeared about a year ago...on these two games I also received on average about 80 to 100 credits......(note, I only play quarters/25 cent credits)       Both the Ac Club (8 machines) and Taj Mahole (6 machines) had their GMBP games returning a paltry average of 65-70 credits per full house, YUCK!     The othe AC casino that offers GMBP is Golden Nugget (8 machines), but I did not play it sufficiently there to form an opinion.  The most troubling aspect about this game experience in AC was at AC Club and the Taj Mahole.....I played several thousand hands (4,000 at AC Club,  3,400 at Taj) at both places, and I had almost identically HORRIBLE results.....the frequency of full houses at both places, on several different machines at each casino, was about 30-35% of what it SHOULD have been......that is to say, if normally you expect to get a full house once every 85 hands or so, I was going between 230-240 hands betwixt fullhouses on the machines at AC club and Taj, But at the PLAZA, I was right where I expected on frequency, 87 hands for 1 full house.....Resorts was around once every 95 hands so still comparably close to norm but still kinda smelly.     BUT....the really troubling aspect of the GMBP games at AC club and Taj Mahole was the fact that, all the other premium hands on the payout menu/table, i.e. Quad Aces and 2/3/4s, NEVER materialized in all the hands I played there.....the only quads I received were 9s which I got twice at Taj on the same machine!    7400 hands between the two casinos spread between about 6 or 7 machines.....and NOTHING!   I mean c'mon           At the Tramp Plaza I did hit quad aces once and quad deuces once plus several other normal quads over several sessions, so the strak difference in machine performance leads me to conclude that, in the case of GMBP, Trump Plaza hose to leave its machines alone and let the paytable decide, while Ac club and Taj Mahol decided to "slot-ify" their GMBP machines and return something awful like 85%!

I found and played this game this week in minden nv! I looked it up and found this thread. My initial thoughts were that there was an extra zero on the full house paytable lol. I seriously thought the 1000 was meant to be 100. I got plenty of 10’s and 15’s and 20’s on the nuggets. Never got more than 100. The other nuggets are not revealed after you choose so I’m pretty sure the bonus is predetermined.
