Popular in the casino?

So, we have this new game, Magic Card Poker.
In practice, within the safety zone of this site, I've played - and gotten some really fantastic hands.
Yet, with 10 hands costing 100 credits each hand, well, I just wonder if this game is even being played in a casino - the 10 hand version.
With nickels, it would be $5 per hand. The bank roll for this, given it's variance, is probably 2 or 3x what it would be for single line $1 VP at max coin bet. (5 coins)
1. Are people playing this game in Vegas/Reno/Tahoe?
2. Are they likely skilled players, or folks just goofing off with more money than sense?
Unless there was a serious promo, I'm not sure I could handle that kind of variance. Now - when the magic cards pop up, particularly in sets of 3, it makes for some pretty hands. But, when you've got 50 hands with no magic...
I can't fathom playing that game with quarter credits unless it was free play..
And I'd love to play that game with $1, but I'd like to be able to eat something besides cat food when I retire. If I could retire.
I just went through 20k credits pretty quickly, even hitting a Royal and several quad 2,3,4 w/kicker. It was like trying to fill a bucket of water, when the bucket has a vicious leak.
