Check Everything

The problem with Swiss Army knife machines (all games/denom) is prior players wacky choices like dollar AF. Today I returned to a machine after 80 minutes and it was two hands before I realized dollars, though I did make it JOB. Needless to say, I busted my TITO. ATM put me +$30. But what a time killer thanks to poor observational skills. Be vigilant.

So it was the previous player's fault because you neglected to check the denomination before you began play? Would you blame someone else for not filling a pool with water just as you were diving headfirst into it?

Yes, be vigilantly observant.

Not at all, though I do abhor that person's preferences. Just cautionary tale. I'll be hawkeye from now on. I already admitted my poor observation. Please pick fights elsewhere.

I'm not picking a fight FAA but by your own admission you didn't make your "observation" until after you had already played two hands.

And why would it matter at all to you what denomination a player, any player but you, played at?

It's another thing to worry about, resetting the machine.

Years ago that happened to me. I thought I was playing 3 handed DDB Dream Card, but the machine was set to Bonus Dream Card. I hit dealt smalls with kicker after only a few hands in. Instead of 800 X 3, I received 200 X 3.

Yeesh. It's so frustrating. Raring to go eager beavers burned. Haste often makes waste. All the more so in casinos.

Check everything. Twice. Then check it again.
