Funny TDB hit

July 3
Raining so we decide i can't complete my "honey-do list" so we'll drive to Lake Charles, have dinner and play as we are close to getting Sweet C to Chairman level. We'll both play on her card. Chances of getting a room on July 3 at Golden Nugget are less than catching a Royal but having hit 8 Royals in 3 days our long time host texts back she has a room for us. Except for a short run, I can't seem to catch two cards of the same color. I go through all of my day's bank roll and part of the next day's. Sweet C is holding her own. The most exciting part was watching a gentleman from Chi-town playing Triple Double Bonus 2¢. He says he and wife are traveling to Texas and playing every casino along the way. He remarks he plays 5-6 casinos every weekend up around Chi-town. He and wife are taking two days to play the 4 in Lake Charles. So, he's holding a pair of 2s and a kicker-telling the man next to him that's the best way to get big hits. Other similar holds are being played. I don't play TDB because of the volatility but I learned it really well when we were at Coushatta because they had 1-25¢ 9-6 TDB and some people played it religiously. The guy is down to a few dollars when it deals him 4-3's /4 kicker for a $1,450 hand pay. The highlight of the night! Especially when his wife finds out he has hit a big one. Another story....

We do the buffet and begin out play to finish up on Sweet C's card. I still can't get in the "zone" but Sweet C has caught Deuces/Ace, 2 hands of 4 Deuces on 50¢ and several other nice hits. Feeling depressed that I'm not getting hits I decide to move my last $100 to TDB 2¢ to kill time. TDB is extremely streaky. I'm on a good streak hitting quads, catch a Royal, catch AWAK and then the streak ends and the downward spiral hits. I finally move from 25 hands to 50 to increase my hands. Down to $58 when the hit came. I just stare....OMGosh! I lock it in and hit reveal. The machine locks up and I realize I have to find Sweet C to take the hit! Frantically, I calling and texting her, the pay attendant arrives in under 60 seconds (she must have been a former Olympic trackster) as I'm frantically calling Sweet C (who unbeknown to me is seated 4 chairs away). I see her and yell for her to come immediately...I tell the attendant my wife is coming since I came to see her hit and she was watching my machine. You know that look when the cookie crumbs are on you face and mom asks.....saw it. So she wrote the G statement with Sweet C's name....poetic justice since she's caught two that I had to take earlier this year. We played a little more and cashed out knowing we'd made up our losses and then some.
