Sweet C and I returned to GN Lake Charles to collect our free king-size sheet sets. With our win from last Sunday we had around $400 each for a bankroll. Tried 25¢ Bonus/DW on the multi-hand 100 play starting with a few hands. Couldn't hit so I moved to 10¢ and caught a Royal a few minutes into Bonus on a 4RF deal-almost doubled my bankroll. A few hands later 4RF - no royals out of 20 hands, less than 10 minutes later 4RF on 31 hands and no royal. Then I lost my timing. Room became availabl. Checked into our wonderful corner suite overlooking the lake and pool. Thanks Carol (host) you're the best.

Ate dinner and came back to our regular All Star machines around 9:00. Up and down, down and then Sweet C around from me stood up and told me to come take the hit! We were playing on my cards to finish out my Elite status. She had caught this nice Royal Hearts!!! 10:00 pm. More $ for the dwindling bankroll. We continued play I caught 4Aces on Bonus on 50¢ around 11:30 to renew my bankroll and Sweet C moved to another vacant All Star. Playing on Sweet C's previous machine at 12:20 was dealt my 4th 4RF for the night and caught this hearts beauty!! Once again I had to take the G statement (gladly) and we both were ecstatic. We are both aware that VP streaks are cold and hot without any foretelling. Twenty minutes later Sweet C besides me catches 4 deuces on 50¢ to renew her bankroll again. Now were on a roll....ha! ha!
2:30 am and were still playing - play is up and down and we're getting tired... we know we have to stop before 3:00 am when the new day starts. I'm still on Sweet C's original machine and I hold a J-10 combo when I just sit there as the coins count through until finally Sweet C looks over at this... While waiting for the hand pay I go the restroom and just start laughing as I walk back. Sweet C sees me and she starts laughing too as we both know how surreal the last few hours have been. After being paid we continue until I look down and its 3:01. So we pull our cards and head to bed. Too excited to go to sleep we read until almost 4:00. The next morning I call down and extend our stay and check with VIP to find out I now have 23 points on a new day which will kill my Average Daily Theoretical.

Late afternoon I go down while Sweet C talks to a elderly aunt. I go to an unoccupied All Star and start my normal procedure of checking my timing on Bonus, DW, BWB. Having not hit Deuces the day before I finally caught 3 deuces and hoped I'd hit at least one. This jewel caught and I told myself at least at 3K it would not be another "G" statement. Surprise...I forgot it was 50¢. We closed out the night playing with Sweet C catching 4 deuces/50¢ 3 more times for $1,500 with two almost back-to-back. My most interesting sequence was down to $12 on my allotment and catching 5 Aces on 3 play and immediately switching to 5 play DWB and holding nothing catching 5 Aces on the first hand of 5 play. I told Sweet C they were just in the deck ready. This was followed shortly by my first 4 deuces since early afternoon after having 3 previous 3 deuces hands not hit.

So a great trip.

Congratulations. Best two words in VP. Now AC, they already know so players just seem to sit there. Or they feverishly switch to adjacent machines on the eternal greed cycle.

nice job, you must be wealthy to bang away at these machines x2 but im sure there are alot of rich wealthy people out their,i always wonder how many bob dancers are out there? just never wanted to write a book about it, even so it sounds like science-fiction or fantasy =) keep em comin Larry!

Sweet C and I are both incredibly rich. We remind each other all the time how special our life is now. Our richness is our love for each other and our families. We both grew up poor. My father dropped out of Rice University Engineering from a full-scholarship at 19 to help his dad, mom and younger sisters during the depression. His dad and mom were immigrants from Germany and the Netherlands. Dad worked as a iron worker until he died at 64 of a heart attack. My mom never graduated-her parents were divorced. My sister and brothers all went to college and graduated. I started teaching at $6,000 a year in the early 70's. I worked two jobs until I became a principal and then worked two jobs by teaching at the University where I still work part time. Sweet C was raised by a single mom with her younger brother after their father (who probably had PTSD from being a Marine in WWII - including landings at Iwo Jima and then a medic in the Korean War) left them. She started her family early after high school. We met many years later after we experienced failed first marriages. Our first marriages each lasted 20+ years. We met and fell in love and have been together forever since. So our richness is finding our soulmates.

We live an awesome life on a fixed teacher retirement income (thanks to Republicans) I can't collect my Social Security since I have a teacher pension. I work part-time to pay for our travel and to pay for our time share "Golden Nugget" or whichever casino we frequent and to pay back the profession that changed my life. As I said, we often remind ourselves where we've come from - two poor $ kids from parents who wanted more for us. The American Dream - work hard, give 100% to your job, treat everyone with dignity and respect and love each other and your family.

IMO, its our positiveness and Golden Rule philosophy that has led to our luck in VP. When you have your first 99% heart blockage at age 48 and your on the table it gives you a different perspective on life. My response when asked about my day is, "Every day is good a good day, but some are awesome." Sweet C and I believe our rewards (richness-quality of life) are the result of our positiveness in life, hard work, and giving to others. We know where we came from and never forget. We both get weekly food comps often $75-$100/week each at GN. If we know we aren't going to use them when we leave and still have them we go to the buffet and the managers allows us to spend our food credit on meals to give to veterans, needy couples especially on senior days or families with kids who need it. It helps someone else and the food $ is profit for the buffet. We didn't lose any money we just put it to work.

When it comes to VP, we practice to try to get perfection in our VP play and we play smart: high return payables, low volatility games, and team work. We will set a goal and both work to accomplish it. That's why we play one card many times to maximize our benefits. Then we switch to help the other accomplish their goal. Once i learned how the casino system works we learned how to maximize our $300-$400 bankroll to our advantage. Like a lot of life, learning the game - marriage, the stock market, or the casino can all pay nice benefits. Sorry i rattled on so much us teachers just don't know when to stop. if you are that rich why not play high limit video poker? its not to say you or bob dancer or another no name high limit video poker player like stephen paddok for example won/loss 100k an hour did not deserve their position in life i am certain you put in what you get out , i did google the ratio from rich to poor and its a 300/1 im not even sure if i buy into that but overall its sad people work hard all their lives put in more time energy and effort but why can't we all have the standard? im not a big fan of communism but to be equal or close to it seems to be science-fiction or fantasy in modern usa

p.s i dunno why people talk negatve to me when i post my winnings normaly they pick at my pay table game but hell having 3 good winnings each year free food/rooms and entertainment at a negative game beats the bloody snot out of any losing card counter playing by the text-book

This version of Bonus deuces pays 97.x. And 4 deuces with ace happens every 35K hands just as nearly rare as a royal.

You may hardly get the same winning experience again.

Btw, you hold suited ace ten in this version just in case you are not aware of. And hold ace if there are more than 2 deuces dealt. General rule but there are exceptions.

Congrats Larry. Borgata has this game in single line .25-$1.00 denom, but pays 65 instead of 50 for a SF. Believe it is a 98.9% game.

That is almost correct - it's 98.8% That game is our "go to" one at Harrahs Laughlin, where we play it at 50 line nickels. It can be a real blast when it's going well!

Larry, I applaud your perspective on life, and congratulate you on making it this far, given some of the hurdles you've encountered.
