I have cut my trips to about 25 percent of notmal and to just a few hours being ultra careful the entire time. If the trend continues, I will just stop entirely up here in Ct. Now the ultra contagious UK virus is in at least 3 states here including Florida in the Orlando area. If its there its here. No doubt from travelers coming through JFK in NY

Hmmmmm. I did this once before. From March through the end of June. Gave it back once the casino reopened June first, but in the interim, took care of some unexpected repair bills ( car and house) and helped out our local animal shelter some. The casino ended up getting the rest back and then some between June and now. Cost of living in general keeps going up and up around the corner Fed and State taxes will be there with their hand out. Just paid our real estate taxes too. Can you believe 5,000 a year for a 1,000 sq foot house on a 50/100 lot. I guess its partly because the beach is down at the end of the street. Another cost that has spiked is homeowners insurance. Again due to being 1/4 mile or so from the water. Nearly 3,000 a year for the same small house. Hard to believe. As a contrast, the annual taxes on our 100 acre farm in Appalachia are only 700 a year. Unfortunately, they are having a huge Covid problem down there. Testing about 30 percent positive and most of the people pay no attention to safety protocols having to do with the virus. There is no hospital close by. It closed due to the economy over ten years ago.

I have not been in a casino since March. Will wait for the vaccination. Hope to return this summer.

A friend was in Las Vegas over New Years weekend. Said it was very crowded. Think I'll wait a while.

Olds, small world. I am originally from the hills and hollows of SW Virginia, about 3 miles west of Gate City. And yes, we can throw a stone into Tennessee from our old family homeplace. I always tell people I'm from near Kingsport because no one has any idea where Gate City is.

Small world indeed Felix. I know Gate City well. The farm is not far from Stone face mountain, Natural Tunnel, Weber city etc. Still so many poor people down there. The hospital closed so Kingsport is the best option for specialized care. That kinda cancelled any plans we may have had to retire on the farm. Beautiful country though. I spent all of my summers there growing up right through my early 20s.
