Congrats to you and Sweet C Double L. Please stay safe with whatever you do during this time and the spike in new cases definitely says that we, as a nation, have not straightened out the curve as of yet and Illinois has had an uptick too. It amazes me the number of people in Illinois who do not wear masks when in public areas such as stores, gas stations, etc. I have yet to see a worker in one of these places say something to those who are not wearing masks but I sure have said things to them and I will continue to do so. During my two visits to Harrah's Joliet recently I have gone later at night and the place has not had many people at the time I go and I was told that they plan to rotate the machines they have turned on/off. This I will not like.

Nice run! Glad you're getting dealt Aces pretty regularly. I'm at least 4 cycles in. :coldcycle:

The hand of dealt quad aces happens about every 50K hands, quad aces with kicker happens about every 200K hands.

4 cycles are still too short for that.

Not sure what you mean by health situation. I'm doing okay, I think you know my wife passed away in February. If you are talking about AZ, we shall see what the future brings. The increased conscientiousness of more and more people to wear masks and engage in social distancing, particularly indoors, is encouraging. Hopefully, a vaccine and more effective treatments come online rapidly. When that happens, look forward to you visiting out here and getting together.

I've been on the blog on sporadically and didn't know you lost your wife. My deepest sympathy and condolences. That why i was references the health situation-i remembered you mentioning she was sick. February and the spring were a blur for me professionally. I told my student teachers in January I was worried by what I was reading in the news. So I began accelerating my students based on anticipating shutting down schools and I wanted to complete all their observations and work so they could graduate if schools shut down. Their last round was completed the week the schools closed so they all met the state's requirements.

Once again my condolences and prayers of comfort to you and your family. I can't imagine the loss of Sweet C.

Glad to hear you and your family are doing well. And congrats on the continued good luck!!!

We are in a similar situation to you. By now my wife would normally already be at 7 stars with CET and we would be planning casino trips across the country. We have only taken two one day trips to our home property Horseshoe Bossier City La. since the pandemic hit.
We really enjoyed Bossier City/Shreveport when we played there. Our daughter went to SFA a couple of hours away so we'd go visit her. She have to report to the dorm and we'd head over or go over before or after for a day or two.

We were worried about maintaining our status with the shutdown as well. I saw were CET reduced the load from 150K to 125K tier points that should help y'all. Golden Nugget Lake Charles Elite status requires 100K tier points or $1M coin in for VP. They came out with a really nice assist program. June1-Aug 31 they are giving double points for all points earned each day (including VP for a change). So we played enough to quickly get Sweet C and me to Chairman. Now we are teaming together to get one of us to Elite and then we'll double up to get the other one. We crossed 58K this trip on one card with the double points. The COVID upsurge will limit our play dramatically even though LA is now requiring face masks state-wide. Anniversary dates for GN are Feb 1 with a 30 day grace period. Daughter Carrie is probably going to make a run at the "Billionaire Club" level. Not sure if she'll make it but if she does I want to see what vehicle she chooses as her one year "free lease car" from GNLC. Mercedes, Jag, BMW :D

Thanks Larry. Its been tough. A week and a few days after she passed we were self- quarantining. Hard enough when your with some one. Worse when you are basically alone. During the early days, I was babysitting her grandson as his parents had to go to work and there was no school. Kept me busy and occupied. Glad you were preemptive with the students. I am sure they and their parents are appreciative. Good going, I'll give you an A+. You, Sweet C and your whole family stay safe and healthy.

Tedlark,

Security is requiring one for entrance per state order along with a temperature check. They are even offering a surgical mask to anyone who needs one. So we now have a half dozen to go with our good cloth ones. On the casino floor we see 85-90% compliance this past trip. But, no one employee is telling them to mask up. A few PA reminders would help. I've reminded several people in the off floor area that one is required. As we came in from the garage a gentleman was on his phone coming in with us and as we approached Security i politely told him he might get ready to be checked. He thanked me. Like me he had forgotten to put it on getting out of his car. I've already made the trip back to the car 3-4 times. The ones I love are the teenagers. They are invincible. On occasion I've commented, "Oh, I see you forgot your mask. I have an spare in my bag would you like it?" The casino could do a much better job especially for those coming onto elevators.

Our last trip we also visited our old haunt. Coushatta Casino in Kinder La. is giving a cloth one away to all patrons upon request from their Player Club. A great promotional and a real quality mask.

Stay well, stay safe, wear a mask for all your loved ones.

Larry, I'm in Arizona too. The numbers are not accurate! They're reporting all tests that come back positive for the current virus, anti-bodies for any past coronavirus, and inconclusive tests all as POSITIVE for COVID19. It's completely conflated with political agendas and the school districts are in the battle on both sides along with parents and government. It's a huge mess right now.
I can't address testing accuracy. The number of deaths tell me all I need to know. I can tell you that my brother (an organ transplant coordinator in the TX Medical Center at one of the world's top transplant hospitals) is seeing the impact of the number of cases and deaths. When Houston's Medical Center, the world's largest medical center, gets to capacity and then at surge capacity its critical. He and his peer coordinators have had to re-certify to work the floor again to help with the surge. They are not on the floor yet because they are "critical care" personnel for the transplant unit. My daughter who is a TAVR heart micro-valve nurse/coordinator has already lost 2 patients who were delayed from surgery because of the surge at the hospital in College Station, TX. They've had to reduce to one critical ICU bed for their heart patients due to the surge so they are probably going to lose more of their patients. Let me just say you don't want to catch it! Not based on the family and friends who have caught even a mild case. Stay safe, stay well, wear a mask for all your loved ones.

Hi gang Mohegan Sun has regular mask reminders on the pa. Max of 4 in an elevator with markers in all 4 corners. They are doing a great job 99 percent compliance with patrons but quite a few are cheating exposing their nose. Security reminds them to re fit properly. I don’t know what it is with older women and the masks anytime they say even a word or to they Yank the mask all the way down and then push it back up until the next sentence. It just doesn’t seem to sink in with them at the casino. The older men don’t seem to be doing that. Maybe it’s a hearing issue. The only thing Mohegan son is doing that I really disagree with is they have just opened their pool. No masks at all in the pool area or of course people in the water and I don’t like the idea of the humid air which is a good transporter of the virus. Security really has their hands full I was talking to a few a few of them today especially once people start drinking and arguing about masks and protocol. I think they are being overly nice to some of them and should just give them the boot when they start arguing. I think I mentioned before they have installed a UV disinfecting system in their ventilation system. There is one problem I am noticing as people are drifting into their old ways. The screamers are coming back both women and men mostly at the tables and mostly at roulette or blackjack. If some of them drop or partially drop their masks when they are screaming and yelling they can shoot the virus quite a distance that is one of my biggest concerns there along with the pool issue. I just stay away entirely from the pool.

OTABILL - So sorry to hear about your wife's passing. Looking back, life goes by way too fast and it makes absolutely no sense why your best friend and life partner was taken away from you way too soon. Stay strong and hold on to all the great memories. She will be with you always.
