1:12 I sit quietly as she playing and I watch my flush 7-A-10-9-Q and hold of A-10-Q hit a 25¢ Royal on JOB on hand #4. We both laugh as I send her a text with the picture.
I hope you get your medication adjusted before you go play again!
Umm...maybe some people say the same thing when they see you dance.

Walking:
Our humidity is still high as normal. Our summer average is 90% to 60% relative humidity which is what kills us and creates such high heat indexes. Our heat index is usually about 10-12 degrees about the reported temperature as a result.

Otabill, you'll love my Laughlin story since you live out there. On our first trip to Laughlin, we walked the board walk during the daytime. When we finally went into a casino I started sweating profusely. Since I had been dealing with some heart issues Sweet C and I began to worry I might be suffering an episode. Oh contrary, the cool, moist casino air was condensating on my hot body. Sure took me a few minutes to figure it out.

Flush Throwaway
Yes, Bob, et.al. I threw away the flush which I wouldn't normally do. One of my premonition overrides came on strong and made me do it. Maybe it was subconscious since Sweet C caught her Royal holding an Ace-10. I learned along time ago in my life to go generally with the best option but when a premonition hits hard i go with it and it has led to some of the best adventures in my life. A strong premonition a few years ago save our lives. While driving a very strong feeling told me to change lanes immediately as I entered a freeway curve I'd driven around thousands of times. Within 10 seconds of changing lanes a drunk driving the inside lane (my lane) the wrong way on my side of the freeway. He hit the car behind me and killed the occupants. Sweet C and I are alive because of that premonition. When I was younger I often had premonition dreams that would come true. Sometimes they would be repetitive dreams over months taking place in settings I'd never been to. The deja vu moments almost always occurred. So I've been receptive to them and my premonitions since. It probably comes from my mom who was extremely sensitive to having premonitions and prophetic dreams. Thousands of times I've told Sweet C when i had a feeling that my daughter was calling and the phone would ring. Nice bond to have.

Some of my biggest hands have come from premonitions/or dreams. I told Sweet C i had a feeling I would get a dealt RF on trip this past December. It had been on mind for weeks. As she walked up to go to dinner. I hit the deal button and turned to her. The dealt RF 5 hands hit. The dealt 5 Aces this past trip was based on a premonition to change machines and play DWB which is not my first game to play on a normal machine change. It just came to me to start with it after moving around from the other side of the bank of All Stars. I can't tell you how many times I've called VP hands before they hit. Sweet C can confirm. A fellow player on this site can confirm my call of her SuperTimes 8X Royal as we played next to each other. it just instantly came to me it would hit. The same with numbers instantly coming into my head when guessing. My motto, play the odds but when my premonition hits...its the odds.

Very interesting LL. My mom had the same gift and evidently it has passed on to me but is totally unpredictable when and where. There have been several instances like yours when driving. Too much to post here. Just 2 quick ones. By the way, I always carry a Catholic Relief Charity Angel Coin in my pocket. When they come in the mail after I make a contribution, I always give them to friends and family if they want one. Last year, on the local fifteen ninute drive from Foxwoods to Mohegan Sun, I felt a little funny and for no reason slowed down from my usual 40 mph on this road to 25. Ten seconds later, a gigantic old tree fell right across the road 100 feet in front of me. I still have the video on my phone of the tree as the dust was settling from the fall.
I gave one of the coins to a very good friend of mine about 8 years ago and one to her son who was being deployed to Afganistan. He always carried it. A roadside bomb went off destroying the vehicle in front of theirs and his friend in it was killed. The shrapnel entered their vehicle too. A sharp piece pierced my friend’s son’s jacket, but hit the coin in his breast pocket and he only suffered a bruise.
His mom on a family vacation in Miami that same year decided she better not leave hers in the hotel as the maids might think it was gold and take it. She put it in her coverup over her bathing suit and went out into the water a little more than waist deep. She thought the water got dark awfully quick, but looked up and there were no clouds. People were franticly waving on the shore. Two great Whites were gliding right toward her and they split apart and went around her at the last second. They were small ones at 9 feet or so, but were still Great Whites.
There are dozens more stories some with the Angel coins and some just with strange instant feelings. They happen to me too while playing, I just don’t talk about it much I guess because I never ask for any help from above while playing vp. Anyway, I know 100 percent what you are talking about. The feeling is unmistakeable and instantaneous.
Ok one more. I always was a wanna be Marine Biologist and even in school went in that direction for awhile. On one of our trips to the Outer Banks in North Carolina in the 1980s, I was fishing on one of the fishing piers. For no reason at all that I can explain, I left my pole on the pier for a minute and walked down and into the water below the pier about waist deep. I was just standing there looking into the water and a 14 foot Hamnerhead Shark showed up and silently and very slowly swam along the side of the pier near the pilings. I walked along side him for ten feet or so maybe two feet apart. I guess he was looking for bait scraps or small fish. I couldn’t keep up as he entered the deeper water. The fishermen on the pier told me I was insane. Oh well I guess they were right. I just went back up onto the pier and resumed fishing. I still think about that big guy and have retold the story a hundred times.

Premonitions are an interesting subject. I think we are all by instinct able to connect with our premonitions as part of our survival instinct. Some more than others. Maybe it is in our genes. As fat happy Americans we have had it pretty easy until the last few months and I think we will hear of more and more people relying on their premonitions and instincts as things remain unusual, complicated, and uncertain in all of our immediate futures.

Premonitions go against everything we learn as VP players. I try to play mathematically perfect and it frustrates me to no end how many times the math does not play out for me. I cannot tell you how many times I need one card to complete the perfect hand only to whiff and only to see that exact card as the the first or second card of the next hand. More than likely in my case this is an example of diabolical programmers that want to make you think that you are close to getting a big payout.

Both Olds and LL have me thinking that there is more to winning at VP than banging away with 100% accuracy. I thoroughly enjoyed both of your accounts and find both of you extremely credible. I have said and been criticized by others that some people are just luckier than others. I still believe that and perhaps that is because these individuals are in better touch with their premonitions than others.

Thank you for listening SMR. I am by no means a long term winner and usually cannot force myself to go against the math. Yes, the next card I needed scenario shows up all of the time. I do follow the feelings though on switching games or even machines and quite often something will come into my head like....boy it has been a long time since I got a full house only to see it on the very next hand. In fact, my last trip I said to myself, boy I really feel like playing Bonus Deuces Wild, but the machine I was playing didn’t offer it so I just set it for 9/6 JOB. The very first hand was dealt 4 deuces and the Ace. Maybe another time in a separate thread, I will retell a few more stories just to break up things for a bit. There quite a few in my 72 years, several going back to childhood. So far, as long as things around home go OK today, I plan an overnight with the Mrs at Mohegan Sun. I plan to stick with the JOB game plan Martingale Clone so I will report back soon on the trip. I must admit. I am getting uneasy about going a bit with the virus ramping up so much again. We will take all of our precautions. Hopefully, the other patrons will be as careful. If not, we won’t take any chances in playing.

When I start the thread sometime in our Anything and everything category, there will be quite a few stories involving animals which I think will hit home for many of us. One of mine involves playing with a real wolf back at UCONN in 1968. I think once I recount the cat and dog stories, many will follow with their own posts and hopefully it will make for some fascinating and light reading for all of us.

Olds, has your wife been as lucky as you lately? Does she play VP or some other type of slot machine? I cannot get my wife to play VP. When she does she goes to DDB and does not like the lower volatility games. She has had quite a bit of luck playing the $5 old fashioned reel machines so she does her thing and I do mine. Good luck to you and the Mrs. today. Hope your hot streak continues. Keep relating the stories. Much better for all of us than arguing and bickering. We are all more alike than we care to admit.

SMR & OLD's i have noticed both of you mentioning a "next card" phenom. I have noticed this myself.
Have been reluctant to mention it for obvious reasons.
It has to be an illusory mental thing. I am sure we are imagining things.... aren't we??

Yes and no. I have been keeping track on how often that card I need it comes up on the very next hand in the very first or second card. It happens way more often then the math would indicate. I realize in randomness there are also chaos and patterns. Some days we will see a card like eights Over and over and over again and you won’t see many threes or sevens. That’s just the way video poker is and there is no predicting it

Tech, I really think it is programmed in to make you think that the next dealt or redealt royal or 4oak is about to happen. Maybe it is just superstition but if I am in a session with nothing but near misses and no straits, flushes, or full houses, I will usually move to a different machine. But far enough away so I so not have to see it hit right after I move.
