GNLC Anger Management Pic

Post by Lucky Larry »

So a standard two day Sunday & Monday trip to GNLC to take advantage of the double points on VP through Aug. 31. We've gained a huge amount of points and will achieve our Elite status on our next trip. Full of excitement, a big bankroll and confidence we went down to play Sunday after check in. By supper at 7:30 we were hungry for food and any little sign that the VP gods still loved us. Both of us had gone through most of our two day bankroll. After dinner things looked just as bleak until Sweet C hits Aces on 50¢ DDB. We finished the night early. Monday, we tried again with the remainder of our bankroll and her Aces carryover. Early on I caught 4 deuces-they do still love me! Not!! Downhill again with just a few hits to keep playing. The gentleman behind me playing Ultimate X had hand pay after hand pay. I decided to try the 10¢DWB but to no avail. Caught one good hand and that was it. Meanwhile, he was playing a fast 10 hand 25¢ DDB and catching hits. He'd already been dealt quad 2's and caught 4-5 kickers . I was opposite his machine back on my DW when Sweet C said he wanted me to come see his hand. (The night before we'd watched a young man hold 4RF/10 hands with a 12X on the top. For 15 minutes he waited until his buddy showed up to watch the redraw. Not a one!) So here is Ray's hand -dealt 3's-I watch him hit redraw and catch a $6,300 hand.

Shortly after that a tech comes over to check a machine that was the victim of the lack of anger management. see pic. The machine was even active evidently when he hit it in anger over his machine not hitting his Royal. $2,000 fine and a permanent ban from the casino for 5 years. Dude! What were you thinking! or Drinking!!

The night was a struggle except for two quad deuces on DW at 11:43 and then again at 11:57. The only decent hits of the night.
Tuesday, we check out, eat lunch on the weekly food comps and go through our normal ritual. Do we want to play a $100 and leave when it out. Last trip we played that $100 for 5 hours on 2¢ and 5¢ VP and had a great time. Of course we did, About an hour into play Sweet C stands up from the other side and has that look....no, not that one the other one! ;) She gotten brave with her 3 hand 25¢ DDB and moved to 50¢ and caught a hearts Royal. Love that look! So were back in the bankroll business.

Around 4:30 DDB loves her again with dealt quad 3's with a 2 kicker on multiple hands. We play for another 4 hours coming home with a nice bankroll for next trip.

  Love that story? Were the bags heavy? Usually their stuff weighs 3 times what ours does.

We used to travel with one suitcase and a small make-up/toiletries bag. Then we started taking our pillows so now we each pack a suitcase, with our clothes, pillow and the overnight toiletries bag. Oh, an then there is the big canvas bag which we fill up with desserts from using the underage of our food comps. For example a couple of good steaks or steak and shrimp plus salad and we still have $$ left over so the dessert goes to the room refrigerator and then home. The only problem with the weekly food allowance is it has to be spent at one setting. So we treat ourselves or other to a dessert. This way the restaurant also gets the full comp amount to show as income. If were not staying and using our weekly food allowance we'll treat an older couple, family or vet to free meal.

And, yes I pull the big suitcase and the overnight bag and the canvas bag on the way home.

Luckily, one of the best perks is that we have gated parking privileges on the first floor so no big deal. We can usually park within a space or two of the door non-weekend days when we arrive.

Nice. I have parking perks too. I love my new Elantra I bought last year, but with some of the cars that park in the same area, it’s like going to and viewing the big New York Auto show. The good thing is, it is like having your own private showroom. In particular, I like the new CLS 450 series Mercedes Benz. If they start allowing smoking again in the casino, one or two of those will be in my driveway in less than a year. Especially with this virus world. I’m done with any casino that allows indoor smoking. Many people our age are saying the same thing. The funny thing is, the Ct casinos revenues with limited things and machines open and no indoor smoking are beating last year’s numbers for the same time period.

And my prayers for all of us continue. I will often stop my play at random to say one for health and safety.

I been checking the state gambling reports here as well. Keep in mind, there is limited opportunities for the $$ that is available to be spent. Ins states with bars closed unless they serve food. the casino is the perfect bar setting. At least thats the appearance of the Lake Charles bars/ I mean casinos. The gang all meets at the casino, hang around, talk, drink, watch a friend at the table games, drink, talk check out the other girls and guys, talk...drink.
