The Slapper, The Knocker, The Clapper, The Kicker, The Smoochers- they are all just tests of resiliency of the mind. Much more easily overcome than the Prolonged Slump- but maybe you ascribe the slump to these distractions?

I sometimes play where I am quite close to four of those humongous video slots (two of which are mercifully off line), the closest being the loudest and of course most heavily played. When certain combos or bonuses are hit, coupled with the hoots and hollers of the player and friends- it rivals the Judas Priest concert I went to in '82. It does annoy me, but no one seems to stay there long. Occasionally I will up the denomination and slow my play. A bigger jackpot is just reward!

I try not to cuss when the game "fires up". I don't begrudge anyone's choice of game and sometimes I even root for them. I like to think the energy will transfer into luck for me. I should keep track just for kicks.

Great tolerant attitude TT.
I have a handy solution to noisy distractions, that i would not wish on anyone,my hearing aids have a mute button. I generally have them there just because of the general casino noise.

It's easy for me to be tolerant. I've been tuning out parents for 50 years, bosses for 40 years, wives and girlfriends for 30, and all the garbage on TV and radio stations for at least 20.

In the name of full disclosure, I must assign a title to myself that I can imagine others have already-
"The head-shaker". After several cycles of not filling in straights, flushes or FH's, I do tend to shake my head particularly if I get off to a poor start. Sometimes if it's bad enough I can be an "Grumbling under the breath head-shaker". I'm getting better though and when the credits run out I'm usually ok with it. If you play high volatility you have to be.

I’m strictly a low volatility player. It preserves both sanity and bankroll. Had pretty good luck despite The Knocker. A mile north of my usual venue, the VP was also cheek by jowl to the loudest damn slots. They’ve since moved the VP to more of a nook. Now players only have the overhead TVs distraction. Harrah’s had infuriating QQ machines barking “Quick Quads!” Casinos are just raucous, unwieldy places. My tolerance is still growing. They are much better now with social distancing, booze and smoking bans.

My look is a gaze up to the sky with a why me lord look?, after the 15th flush in a row failing to fill out.
I'm not the expressive type. A couple of times the guy next to me did not know i had hit a $5 royal until the money showed up.
My wife calls it "no sense no feeling".
But that is not true. The same ecstatic feeling anyone has,i look at the screen, replay the draw, and am truly in the place that all of us know (except maybe for FAA :D ) Sorry that popped into my head and i could not resist. :ouch:

We do love you FAA. Were pulling for that elusive hand-pay and hoping, yes some of us are even praying, that it is recorded for all to see

Try a Chinese Fortune cookie FAA. Not too many years ago the Mrs. and I went to a really good Asian restaurant at Foxwods. My fortune cookie said you will get lucky tonight. I showed it to the Mrs. who said I have such a terrible headache. It must be the smoke in the casino. But less than 10 minutes after dinner, I hit $1000 royal. Just kidding about the Mrs. if she reads this I am screwed.

The Knocker was late yesterday. I had luck during her stint. But ice cold machines earlier had me scale back. If I don’t have at least a lukewarm start, I tend to pack it in and play not to lose. It’s a failure of nerve.
