Well, I am not normally a Slapper, but this past weekend I was playing some machines on the East Coast with such sticky hold buttons I almost turned into one to make sure my holds were being held. Sometimes there are reasons for it.

They really can drive you crazy. The springs and contacts get worn leading to their punishment. On the flip side, some are so sensitive that just barely touching them can lead to a hold/unheld card if one plays too fast. I have lost more than one quad on job because of buttons like that. Then there are the ones that only work by the slightest touch in one corner of the button. As soon as you think you have that figured out, it no longer works by touching the button in the exact spot.

I remember one lady that would knock for an STP multiplier. But at least it wasn't every hand... that would get old fast.

FAA,
Your Slapper's cousin frequents my area and I've written about him before. Playing every machine with a slap on the keys followed by more slaps to "turbo" the hand. He also talks usually to his buddy/ies about what he should hit based on his starting hand. "Oh! Trip 4's I should get....What... thats crap... I only got...."
But, this weekend I ran into a new strategy from another player. With only one of two hundred play machines available and the only All Star available one away I was stuck with a "Clapper". Playing SuperTimes Play he "clapped loudly several times" each time the STP multiplier came up. Playing 100 hand 10¢@ $60/hand he played for hours. I guess the system worked because the last hand pay was $2,800 as he was dealt trip 6's on a 7X or 8X multiplier. He even commented that he'd had people ask about his clapping but it was "just his routine". Sweet C got the treatment the next night but was gracious enough to pull the ticket he left in the machine after another hand pay and got up and left. A couple hours later (we figure after dinner) he showed back up and we presented it to him.

I'm going to call it a night if both of them show up on the same evening and provide the entertainment.

I forgot to mention the “ Kicker”. Constantly kicked the bottom portion of the machine if he didn’t get the card he wanted. And of course the his/her swear couple. Right out of a carnival. Covered with tatoos. They only know swear words that’s it. If they tip the waitress at all, its filthy pocket change. Much less than a buck for 2 drinks and 2 waters. They order constantly until they get shut off.

This is unbearable. It would really rattle me. Of all the bad luck! Plus he actually had a nice session after the hoopla instead of getting wiped out, as the odds would have suggested! High rollers sure can weather the storms.

The Kicker is an entirely new breed to me. I limit my lower body exertion to rising for a jump after a premium quad. Of course, this is silly and puerile. But after an hour of aggravation, I need the release. Cash out and fly out.

If you play a lot in casino, you will see all types of people. There were annoying people who suddenly shouted at me or body touched me for asking something without excusing themselves. And there were smokers who just blew smoke in people face.

But I still believe it’s not the casino that turns them into uncivilized people, it’s because they are uncivilized first.

I agree. In fact after watching so many of them in action, I will say to my waitress occasionally I guess their homes look like this too After they leave some sort of disgusting mess for someone else to clean up.
