I've seen times when a casino has removed some games and transfers progressive jackpots to other machines. Could this be something like that?

That's possible for the unexplained jump from 770 to 1070, but Carcounter personally hit the jackpot three times and saw that it didn't reset.
In my story, I also had jackpot hits that didn't reset.
