Casino Crier

My most recent trip was a low stress, no play day. Sports book and a casino gift pick up elsewhere were my aims. But even this cruise control day can go haywire. I had the best seat in the book. I was surrounded by degenerate gamblers, but hadn't a care about spreads or money lines. But off to my right, behind the wall were ten guys standing and watching the screens. One had a baby in a stroller who cried at very high decibels for a solid half hour. She was hidden by the wall and I was going insane just figuring out where the racket emanated from. Even when parent of the year held her, she continued to bawl. I just wanted to see and hear ball. I thought about giving him a piece of my mind. But that would just make a scene and I would become the bad guy. I couldn't imagine how tolerant everyone else was. Eventually, the mother arrived and they mercifully left the premises.

They allow babies to stay in a casino on/adjacent to the gaming areas in AC? I understand children walking with parents on the periphery of the gaming floor to get to a hotel or restaurant. I've seen that in Vegas and elsewhere. But lingering, never.

This infant could drown out a fire truck. I thought the torture would never end. There were tactful ways to intervene, but I just assumed that he would get the idea. I guess you could call the book a gaming area, without the slots and tables. But plenty of money was in the balance. No bottle, no pacifier, no clue.

FAA it is the age of the offending parents that is the real problem, not the infant.
And your final two words "no clue" are at the heart of theses generational differences.
They truly expect their personal dis-function as a parent to be something that society should accept.
Would your parents have allowed this to happen? Of course not nor mine.
There is a "slippage" happening in American society,a drifting to a self centered view of the world.A view that they are owed things and the rest of society should bow to their wishes.

TT, the early games had just begun, so that’s out. Dad was maybe 27. Why the casino even lets people congregate behind a four foot wall in the main drag is itself an issue.
They also rope off every other seat. Then they somehow renege and allow three adjacent people max! Later, a guy sat next to me, making it five. Security of course slacked off by then, so I had to fetch them and have him removed. He gave them quite an earful, too. Yes, a relaxing day indeed.

I had to get security to remove a improper mask wearer just last week. After several warnings, he would just just drop the mask as soon as they left. I had to get them to watch exactly what he was doing. At leased they finally tossed him. As to the parents, and I use that term loosely, for some reason, they think they are entitled no matter how disturbing their kid is. Before covid, there were a couple of them at church who refused to use the crying room. I actually quit going to that mass because of them. When not crying, the baby would scream at the top of its lungs for attention. Ever go to the toy section of Walmart a couple of months before Christnas? I cringe as I see the could care less parents watch their brood peel off toy after toy from the shelves either partly destroying them or leaving them scattered on the floor. The parent is usually on their smart phone not paying attention to anything. I say parent because rarely are there two.

At the end of my rope. Nice outdoor venue tomorrow miles from the nearest casino with well spaced screens on a fence. No bawl, just ball.

Well, the crier was back on Sunday. This time for only five minutes, an improvement!

May I politely ask why you reported this today and not back on Sunday?
