Most you've won Non-Taxable.

Post by SaraTG »

Quick random question. What's the most any of you has won without hitting a taxable hand? Here anything over $1200 in one hand or spin on a slot is a taxable amount and the machine will freeze up until the Attendant comes. But you can win any amount and just print out a paper voucher to either put into one of the machines to cash or take to the tellers cage. So that being said, What's the highest amount you've racked up on a machine without having any of it be taxable? I ask because recently I was at the casino and the machine seemed to just go crazy and in the course of two hours I must have hit 14 four-of-a-kinds and a couple of straight flushes and ended up with $4000 but never won more than $800 in one hand.

In August 2019, I brought home $3,600, all of which was won in less than $1200 increments — and that's after being down $2,300 after my first day (three day trip). The day after losing so badly, I started an incredible streak at Cosmopolitan — multiple hits of $500 - $800 (including two back to back $800 hits). I ended up being up about $2200 after four hours at Cosmopolitan...and had continued success, including winning $1,400 (but not on one hit) in dimes at Wynn. That was a trip (and a comeback!) I'll never forget!

Congratulations. Yeah, the $1,200 freeze should be national. Unsure about tribal routine. Your success sure beats a $4,000 hand pay. Teller and take off. It does take guts and patience to stay with it for two hours and not quit while you’re ahead. I couldn’t do that. Just $1,000 RF hits.

I once had 5 deuces $1000 hits within 3 hours. Put part of it back in but still walked with $3900 tax free.

Technically, every penny won is taxable as gross gambling income at session end. But I won’t say anymore about it and bust any bubbles. What is a session? You could write a book about that.

I think the evening of March 11/early morning of March 12 run at Coushatta was my highest that I can find photo-wise. All on VP.
Total $5,840

Since so many of the pictures are just above $1,000, it makes one wonder if you inserted $1,000 into the machine, played a few hands, and then cashed out. That would make you a $160 loser, rather than you being an implied $5,840 winner. Cash out tickets in and of themselves mean nothing without the context of how much you started with.

Thanks. That was a nice day for sure. But I was thinking more along the lines of cashing on a single machine in one sitting.
