The clone isn’t perfect, but for now, I just cant argue with it. Thought I would give the DDStud a try for a bit knowing this is a hit and must run game. It did not disappoint me.

Thanks Olds. I am getting out but have stopped going to the casinos for a variety of reasons. At some point I may venture back. In the meantime, since I won't be getting them, keep hitting those winning hands and I'll cheer you on.

Congratulations. A $900 hit is always a blessing. The TR hits, as thrilling as they are, lack the crucial bottom line number. Was it a great trip or just okay? With a $1K BR, it's hard to tell.

A great hit at the time if I had quit. Notice they rhyme. Switched to regular deuces wild draw poker and never came close to the quad 2s. Ended up somewhere around even, but Racked up 300 in free play by hitting 2,000 tier/status points and 2-100 buck achievement awards. Ran about 30,000 through the machines. Still discipline failed again.

Ah, context. The devil is in the details. I'd love to have a $30,000 coin in day. The most I've ever had was $6,000. Also a bad memory around even day with $400 given back. Maybe if I'd stayed another four hours and gotten to about $20,000 coin in, I'd have been in the exact same square one place. It would have amounted to more play on the house. I'd rack up tier credits towards restaurants, but only about eighty cents an hour for my work.

No one will ever convince me that hit and run is not the best strategy. Hit them at or near the top of the sine curve and bail. That curve is always tilted downward like a long winding mountain road. Near the bottom, sometimes the brakes are just too warm to even stop the car.

If there was a sure-fire way of identifying the moment when you are at the top of that curve, it would be great - but there isn't.

I know. That is a problem of course. The closest one can come is very long Marathon sessions or a team of players relieving Others after so many hours. Of course the casinos frown on this. I won’t be able to keep up these Marathon sessions forever at my age and it isn’t healthy to do so anyway. I guess I need the Mrs by my side to drag me away if I happen to catch that curve shortly after arriving at the casino. I really need to force myself to be happy with smaller wins and not increase my bets until well into a losing lengthy cycle. Even then there are no guarantees, but there is something in randomness where after many many hands without some really good hands a few good ones will appear all bunched up together. Its like running after a train leaving the station with two heavy suitcases in both hands. I remember doing that once myself. Rode the rails much more often in the 1950s. In fact, when really young, my mom and I rode the streetcars on the streets of Boston.
