Coushatta and Golden Nugget open all machines

Post by Lucky Larry »

Somehow in my excitement in the last post I forgot to announce that Coushatta and Golden Nugget have both opened up all of their machines. No more social distancing however; Coushatta is skipping every other chair. So just steal one and sit at the empty machine.

Horseshoe Bossier City opened all the machines when we were there a week ago. Thankfully my wife and I are fully vaccinated. Most people are still wearing masks and being considerate of one another. However, if you look around there are still quite a few chin strap wearers smoking away not wearing their masks properly. Although all of the machines are open, still half of the places to eat at Horseshoe are still closed down.

If Ct goes back to allowing smoking at their casinos, I am done. Probably have done enough damage already in that regard from secondhand smoke

Olds,
I think this would have been the perfect time for casinos to have made the switch to non-smoking. It will probably take a class action lawsuit from employees to force the issue.

I absolutely love that WeKoPa in Arizona is totally smoke free upon building their new casino. I can breathe and don't have to shower after a visit because of all the smoke. All casino's should do this!

Strongly agree. IMO casino industry missed a golden opportunity to get rid of smoking inside casinos. Outside smoking areas for smokers that some casinos provide seem to me to be a better way to deal with smokers. Cigarette smoke is pure hell for those of us older folk that don't smoke. Unfortunately, those that do smoke are so addicted to it they spend little time considering how it affects others. As they wear their masks on their chins and slowly take a drag off their favorite cigarette. And the smoke fills the air. It eventually finds the lungs of those of us that don't smoke or have given up smoking a long time ago.

I have not been to the new We-Ko-Pa Casino yet. One of these days. Used to go to the old Fort McDowell for Bingo and stayed in the self-contained no smoking room. Agree about the second hand smoke. I believe it was exposure to second hand smoke in casinos that caused my late wife's lung cancer that killed her.
