Unlucky thirteen

Last week took the VIP bus for the weekend to try to stop the skid at 12 (losing trips). First hundred yielded +140 thanks in part to quad Aces (albeit halves 9/6 DDB). After that it was a parade of Benjamins into machines. One of my four preferred machines was down on account of carpet replacement, and another locked down or occupied by 7*, so I was relegated the first 2 days to the pair of dollar machines in the Diamond Cove.

One hand pay was not nearly enough to swing the tide- too small, it came way too late. Not a single dealt 4RF, let alone the 5RF I was seeking. The latter portion of the trip was spent playing at 0.50 & 0.25 trying to catch a hand that would vault me back into $1/2 play. Alas, many 4OAK, but only a single kicker hand and no dealt SF to make the transition. Other than the hand shown, no dealt hands of any value to keep afloat.

All in all, over 5000 TC before bonuses, but so what? I would never have thought this would drag on so long, playing near perfect on 99.2% game. I could nail a 20k royal and still be able to only write off part of the losses. Such are the vagaries of lady luck.

Though I have limited opportunities remaining, I will continue on the same path. Discipline and perseverance. "The mettle of a man is tempered by the fire of adversity".

Sobering streak. I know that session story well. Who would have ever thought that this premium hand hit pursuit would drag on so long on 99.54% and 99.1%?! Next Exit: Bust City. Cove a wipe out for me 100% of sessions. I wrote those SOBs off when they pulled my dollar carousel from the floor, and it's been a godsend in disguise. I can only lose so much betting quarters and halves at Borgata. They may corner me into some desperate BPD, but I must learn to use that sucker switch sparingly.

I wore out the sucker switch recently until it wouldn’t fire any more, but wouldn’t you know they had an electrician back on the scene in minutes to replace it. I will fall back on one of my posts years ago. 99% games do return that long-term. Unfortunately long-term can be longer than one’s lifetime and can approach infinity.

I feel your pain TT. I am coming up on 3 months of the worst losing streak ever. Down 8k since the middle of May, still up for the year but hate giving so much back. My biggest hit in the last 3 months was a $800 bailout on BPDLX just before I walked out the door. That don't cut it. Been just playing off free play to rebuild my bankroll at this point. Since I am not 62 yet to kick in SS and pension poker is my only income for the next 20 months. Plus the fact of our casino changing the points from 1 to 1 to 2 for 1 has killed my chances on drawings now have to do twice the coin in as before. When will the pain end????

Just order a Moscow Mule at the bar. Whack yourselves in head with the copper mug mid session and prevent any further losses. I may resort to this tactic myself if trips do not ameliorate.

Too many of us are losing, losing, losing, almost every trip. Every slot attendant I talk to says the casino keeps tightening up, but they don’t have the details. Of course the fewer hand pays means less tips for them. When they first opened after Covid shutdown, I was hitting like crazy at least about what it should be. Now it is the oposite. I wonder how much oversight there really is on these casinos. Especially with short staffs everywhere. Whenever I ask a slot attendant about randomness, I get the silent treatment, they change the subject, or the ones that are ready to retire say HA!! or a one word answer. Partially. At any rate, its not something I want to hear. I have been tracking quads without wild cards for about 3 months now. This will be accurate to within 10 percent. I should hit roughly 1.6 quads per hour based on roughly how many draw poker hands I play per hour. It has been averaging about .9 per hour. The rest of the better hands appear to be about average. However, the full houses are coming in bunched up together, then none for a long time. Very strange. I know this could still be the nature of randomness, but as to the quads......my sample is quite large. Nearly 240,000 hands. Still probably too small to be statistically significant

I’m shooting for one quad per hour, given my slow play. Today I got two in 100 minutes at different casinos, so I had some success. There is definitely bunching of premium hands. If you can determine when and where, it helps. Today the blueprint was true to form at both my venues. Just a framework, but for me a worthwhile one.

Have you tried asking the washroom attendants? No cameras or microphones there, so they might be a little more forthcoming.

Unfortunately I don’t speak Swahili, Chinese, Arabic, or Russian. I can get by with Spanish, but haven’t seen any of them in there lately !!!! The hosts will go as far as saying things are tight without implying its the machines, but I know what they meant. Another thing....I have never soo many people drinking ro excess as lately. Coviditis I guess. And the screamers ( girls especially ) are back everywhere even at 3 AM after the bars have closed.

Lots of screaming and carrying on at Borgata on my weekend sessions. It’s just part of the AC summer scene. Especially annoying as I am so locked in on my VP hands.
