I Need a Casino Trip Already

I posted this as a response but decided to start a new topic. Many VP players are having to gauge the risks of returning to a casino. Sweet C and I have been going but take many precautions; vaccinated, masks at all times, wipes and alcohol spray of the machines, and going during low play times -early-mid week to miss weekends, eating at the outside cocktail tables instead of inside at peak times. So here is a perspective story. Where am I safer?
So everyone needs a good laugh! And, Olds you'll really appreciate this with your wife's background. My university semester has already started up. Met with my students face-to-face in late July-socially distanced and masked. Public school Inservice started last week and classes begin this week here in many of the area districts. Over the years, I have often heard how Texas schools are failing in their roles....With our....(inappropriate word's) governor's wisdom,(yes, he is a product of Texas schools) schools can no longer provide safety for students/staff by requiring masks and kids under 12 aren't eligible for vaccine yet. The new edicts from the Texas Education Agency (appointed by the guv) now no longer require schools to notify parents if a staff member or student in a class was sent home with Covid and are no longer required to contract trace. So, can't required masks, no notification of sick staff or students, no tracing... what could go wrong.
So Friday, I go to 3 schools in a district set to begin Monday to visit my student teachers. Saturday I get a call from one of my students who has developed severe Covid symptoms. Exposure #1. Sunday at noon I receive a text from another student teacher explaining she got a text that her Cooperating Teacher tested positive for Covid. Exposure #2 Hey, good odds 2 out of 3.
Following protocol, I notify the university, who email me back saying because of the new rules and the fact that I'm vaccinated, therefore; I am no longer considered to have had an "exposure". Go back to work.
Four more campuses today. So tonight I told Sweet C we may as well go to the casino...it's probably safer....than at school. I fully anticipate a FUBAR coming soon to our neighborhood schools.
Addendum: Just checked my university email. In an open letter to all employees, the faculty senate has voted to override the university president (who is taking the guv's lead) and demand a return to hybrid/on-line university classes like this past spring because of the Covid situation instead of face-to-face. Gonna be an interesting semester. Gosh darn I need a casino trip!!!
