I had back to back $4K royals in 2001. The attendant finished paying me for the 1st one but she was still at the machine when I hit the second one on the very next hand. I was planning to buy a new riding lawnmower so when I hit the two back to back royals I upgraded to a very nice small John Deere yard tractor. I still have it and it reminds me of that lucky day.
The odds to hit 2 royals in just 2 hands back to back r apx. 40 000 x 40 000 to 1 or 1,600,000,000 to 1 !! with billions and billions of hands played world wide the sample size would dictate this to happen a lot more than one time ! Congraduations. Impressive , most Impressive !!
But that is only if you predict the next 2 in a row will be royals. Once you already have one, the odds the next hand will be a royal are still only 1 in 40,000ish

Probability and odds. Folks have been confusing the two for years. Much longer than I have been around.

coin toss 2 heads in a row is .5x.5 = .25 or 3 to 1 . of course if u flip the first toss heads the next is now 50% . thanks for pointing it out though !

Confusing? How?

The achievement is not singular. The base of the equation is two royals in a row. The math question is not: I have a royal in hand so what are the odds of another? The math questions is: What are the odds of back to back royals. Advantage Player is correct.

Easy one. Hitting a progressive royal decompressing with my late wife at the casino on a cruise. The staff had already left (it was after midnight we were told we could continue to play). So there was no one to pay us until 9 am . Had the night manager verify our hit, the machine locked up and we slept nervously until morning. Got there, somebody sitting next to the machine said it was broken as the royal continued to show and the music played. Finally got the $1202 payout (glad we our cruise/players card in the machine when it hit. The bummer was even though we were in International waters off the coast of Mexico in a non-US registered ship we still got a W2-G!

see this is why i need to take math course on why both statements can or can't be true, a RF is 1 over 40k or does it change and goes to 40k x 40k?

i like to think everything is unchanged and remains constant so 1/40k is the reality we live in just rare outcome for back to back but that rare outcome translates to math 40k x 40k? or back to 1/40k?

if you have just hit a royal, the chance of hitting one on the next hand, making in two in a row, is 1/40K.

If you haven't just hit one, the chance of hitting the next two in a row is 1/40K x !/40K.

I think people get confused because odds are used to compute probability.
