Atlantic City, Sands Casino 2002ish.

I was coming in from a night of drinking ,and as I was passing a bank of video poker machines, one started calling out to me. I didn't play much VP in those days and this game had a joker in it so I didn't know the pay tables to see if they paid right. It's a fifty cent machine so at $2.50 a pop it can get expensive fast.
I throw in $20 and hit a full house on the first spin. I go to cash out, but decide the machine didn't call me over for $25. The next hand I get a flush but press on. Two or three losing hands and I get dealt four of a kind. I'm all excited when someone reminds me to finish the hand. I was so excited about the 4OAK that I forgot about the joker and the new card was indeed the Joker. 4,000 credits. I'm pretty drunk and am thinking it is quarters, so $1,000 but the girl is counting out $100 bills and is up to $1400 before I realize it is a $2,000 payout. I sign some paperwork, tip her $50 and am walking away when she calls me over and reminds me I have about $70 in the machine. \
The next afternoon, I try to find the machine but it is not where I remembered it being.
Nice of her to remind you of the remaining credits. Once at Ballys, I hit a 5K progressive on a dollar machine at the old Park Place Poker area and was so focused on the seedy crowd around me after getting paid that I started walking around to make sure everything was good, then realized, maybe 30 -40 seconds later that I left $ 200 in credit left in the machine. went right back and it was gone. Pretty sure the attendant took it.

Bummer. In Ct, security would have checked the cameras and taken it further.

I was just thinking of my second favorite one…. A few years ago, I was playing a bank dollar 15/9/4/4 Deuces wild machines at Foxwoods. One hit 4 deuces almost immediately. I slid over one machine. All 3 of the remaining machines in that bank hit quad deuces in less than 5 minutes of play each.

Were all those hits yours?

Yes guys all mine. I just kept sliding over. A grand each so 4 k total. I could use that now. Still on the longest dud streak ever.

Oh, no. Your reports are always such welcome reading. I’ll have to undertake the reckless wagering myself. I don’t have time for a marathon. I must be much more strategic about cashing in on my window.
