Not My Day

Post by FAA »

All in on 4RF, a miss. All out on 4SF, a hit. Casino’s favorite genre must be black comedy.

Yes, a fleeting glimpse of a possible 4,000 hand pay and a minor insult by completing the Straight Flush with a short coin bet. At least it was a plus day. Hard to come by lately for me.

RF Hail Mary also improved my Queen pair pat hand. You’re a marathon away from yet another hand pay.

That's the "reward" for not playing full coin all the time. Can you imagine the whining if the situations were reversed, and the royal was hit, but at short coin?

Or if he hit both but for the same amount.

I'm sure that I am not alone when I say that I am glad that I do not subscribe to this same outlook.

Somewhat hyperbolic statement, but the man does have a decent enough hand pay track record and fantastic RF pay table games in his favor.

In the words of the eminent contemporary philosopher Bruce Arians, “No risk it, no biscuit.” Play small, win small. Those two hands in one session are just a notable juxtaposition for me. Play big, get frustrated, down shift hamster wheel for me.

FAA, you really need to remember what you write. Didn't you, in another forum post you made today, say that you were scuttling quarter play and focusing on dollar play?

So how does "Play big, get frustrated, down shift hamster wheel for me" compare with "You are right in that I spent too much time on quarter. Yesterday I simply avoided it. Waste of time and unrewarded effort unless RF $1,150, which is almost never. I enjoy responsible dollar play and am best served concentrating my efforts there. I eschew bonus games beyond vanilla BP."

Playing short coin at the dollar level is not responsible dollar play considering that you are driven by the goal of hitting a dollar hand pay royal. In the past I have tried to offer you suggestions to help but you are going to the beat of your own drum.

I would like to ask you a serious question: "Why do you play?" Do you play to reach a certain tier player level tier status? Do you play to hopefully hit a hand pay royal? And by this I do not mean you asking for a check if you hit a quarter royal but a legitimate over $1,200.00 hand pay?

If you play for either of the above two reasons then you are playing wrong.

If you go to a casino and play for any other reasons then the two I stated above then you should reassess why you are going to casinos.

I am not the only one here who sees this.

I play for a legitimate hand pay, but often get frustrated with the results and scale back, sabotaging its very achievement. It’s a struggle. Must minimize or outright eliminate quarter to derive actual value from the damn trips. Full play dollar as long as possible if at Caesars, at halves at Borgata.
