Ceasar's Charter/Junket to Biloxi

Post by rayj »

So, got back yesterday from a 3 day charter to the Biloxi Mississippi Harrah's Gulf Coast Casino and Hotel.
First, the hotel. When we made the reservations, we specifically requested a handicap accessible room with a king sized bed. What we got was a handicap room, but with two queens. We needed the king sized because me and the wife both use CPAP machines and we each need a night stand for our machines. The double queens only have the one night stand between them, which is not big enough to hold a phone, lamp and both of our machines. Unfortunately they did not have any king bed handicap rooms so we had to improvise with using a folding chair beside one of the beds.

There was no daily room service. If you needed towels or a change of bedding, you have to request it.
The over all look of the room is dated. Hallway carpets were pretty dirty. The bathroom floor is very dangerous if you step out of the shower with wet feet. The tile is slick and you can easily slip and fall. Use the floor towel they supply before you get into the walk in shower or the bathtub/shower.

Overall, I give the room a "D".

The casino is....well...a casino. There obviously are way more slots the VP machines. But, we like the 6 bar-top VP machines in front of the large TV viewing gallery. I never knew there was Triple Triple Bonus games! We were pretty lucky, I should say the wife was pretty lucky as she hit 3 Royal's on the second machine from the viewing gallery entrance. I did OK but nothing to brag about.

My only gripe is the way they treat the 7Stars versus the Gold/Platinum players like us. Like the middle class paying most of the federal taxes, the Gold/Platinum players are where the casino gets it's profits from. Correct me if I'm wrong.

We also like the Palace, the only non-smoking casino. They give you a T-shirt for every $1,000 jackpot. I got 3 of them.

On the last day (Sunday) we had a couple hours before we caught the bus to the airport so to get back even we hit the same machines at Harrah's before we left. The wife hit 3's w/kicker on .50 Triple Triple BP for $2K to put us a little ahead.

I should mention the flight (Swift Air) was only 1 1/2 hrs, but very uncomfortable. The seating was 3 and 3, but most middle seats were empty. Probably a Covid thing. The seats were the closest to each other then I have ever seen. My knees were smack against the seat in front of me. Even the aisle seemed narrower.

But overall we had a decent time for the $70.00 it cost.

So this time we drove to Biloxi from Tampa, Fl. Not too bad of a drive...about 8 hrs.
Harrahs Gulf Coast room was comped for 4 days. It was quite dated, but the TV was attached to the wall for easy viewing while in bed. No coffee machine or microwave but it did have a refrigerator.

The first two days was not too eventful. Pretty much stayed even. We play TTBP for the entire time there, alternating between .25 and .50. Our bank roll was $2.5K each. The table machines at the 406 Club were the only TTBP we know of at the Harrahs Gulf Coast.

But the 3rd day started to take us down. By mid day we were down about $3.5K total. Then it happened. The machine I was on went berserk and I pulled about $8K out of it when we retired for the day. I hit 4 hand pays of $2K playing .50 TTBP. couple of 2's and 3's with ACE kicker and one Aces with kicker. A few other foak's. A quick visit to the Palace and I hit a Royal and dueces with kicker on .25 so a quick $1500 and we skidaddled back to Harrahs. We decided to check out a day early with a $4K win.

The hand pays were spread out time wise, costing us $$, but in the end, very satisfied to leave a winner.
Although the Mix and Mingle restaurant food sucked, we will definitely visit the casino again.

Yep, congrats. The lettuce you had in your pocket was definitely better than the food.

Nice going Ray and Mrs. Ray. As an aside, one reason we stopped going to Harrah's AK-Chin is their Caste system. Too many bad experiences. Found most other local casinos did not discriminate against us relatively low rollers like Hattah's/CET.

Fantastic trip. Horrors AC is nothing to write home about either. It’s gone way down.

rayj,
congratulations one the nice come back. A quick suggestion. The next time you spend 4 days in Biloxi, drive another 3 hours and take a day in one of these two casinos in La. Coushatta has the highest pay tables in La. and is a classy joint, If you decide to go contact host Debbie and tell her Larry T recommended giving it a try. It's kinda like a family member who takes the Harrah's run to Laughlin for 4 days and going to LV Red Rock for two of them and then flying back home on the charter back from Laughlin. Her LV trip pays for her Laughlin losses.

Paragon - Marksville, La.

3 VP Games:
99.54% JoB
Jacks or Better JoB (FP) 1-2-3-4-6-9-25-50-800 25¢, 50¢, $1 1 Play scattered around casino
Slant-tops

98.98% DDB Double Double Bonus DDB (FP) 1-1-3-4-6-9-50-80-160-160-400-50-800 25¢, 50¢, $1 1 Play
MG scattered around casinos (some machines do not have all games)
98.91% DW44

Deuces Wild 44
LV Airport/Illinois Deuces
1-2-3-4-4-9-15-25-200-800 25¢, 50¢, $1 1 Play MG
scattered around casinos (some machines do not have all games)

Coushatta, Kinder, La.

99.17% BP: 1¢-$1
98.98% DDB: 1¢-$1
98.91% LV Airport/Illinois Deuces: 1¢-$1
98.5038% JoB: 1¢-$1
98.09% JW: 1¢-$1
98.0687% BP: 1¢-$1
98.01% BP: 1¢-$1

They also have 9/7 TDB down to 1¢ denomination if IIRC.

Also consider driving another 30 minutes west to Silver Slipper, which has good pay tables for low denom.
