Ceasar's Charter/Junket to Biloxi

So, got back yesterday from a 3 day charter to the Biloxi Mississippi Harrah's Gulf Coast Casino and Hotel.
First, the hotel. When we made the reservations, we specifically requested a handicap accessible room with a king sized bed. What we got was a handicap room, but with two queens. We needed the king sized because me and the wife both use CPAP machines and we each need a night stand for our machines. The double queens only have the one night stand between them, which is not big enough to hold a phone, lamp and both of our machines. Unfortunately they did not have any king bed handicap rooms so we had to improvise with using a folding chair beside one of the beds.

There was no daily room service. If you needed towels or a change of bedding, you have to request it.
The over all look of the room is dated. Hallway carpets were pretty dirty. The bathroom floor is very dangerous if you step out of the shower with wet feet. The tile is slick and you can easily slip and fall. Use the floor towel they supply before you get into the walk in shower or the bathtub/shower.

Overall, I give the room a "D".

The casino is....well...a casino. There obviously are way more slots the VP machines. But, we like the 6 bar-top VP machines in front of the large TV viewing gallery. I never knew there was Triple Triple Bonus games! We were pretty lucky, I should say the wife was pretty lucky as she hit 3 Royal's on the second machine from the viewing gallery entrance. I did OK but nothing to brag about.

My only gripe is the way they treat the 7Stars versus the Gold/Platinum players like us. Like the middle class paying most of the federal taxes, the Gold/Platinum players are where the casino gets it's profits from. Correct me if I'm wrong.

We also like the Palace, the only non-smoking casino. They give you a T-shirt for every $1,000 jackpot. I got 3 of them.

On the last day (Sunday) we had a couple hours before we caught the bus to the airport so to get back even we hit the same machines at Harrah's before we left. The wife hit 3's w/kicker on .50 Triple Triple BP for $2K to put us a little ahead.

I should mention the flight (Swift Air) was only 1 1/2 hrs, but very uncomfortable. The seating was 3 and 3, but most middle seats were empty. Probably a Covid thing. The seats were the closest to each other then I have ever seen. My knees were smack against the seat in front of me. Even the aisle seemed narrower.

But overall we had a decent time for the $70.00 it cost.

There is not any truly great VP on the coast. The IP in Biloxi has a few good machines but only for certain paytables. The worst, in my opinion, are Beau Rivage and Golden Nugget, but I have not been to all of the coast casinos, so there may be a good one that I am unaware of.

I have found the best paytables at the Silver Slipper, which is the western-most casino on the Mississippi coast, located just west of Bay St. Louis. But its best paytables are for low denominations.

Beau Rivage remains a mystery to me. It has horrible --- truly horrible --- paytables, but it is always crowded or semi-crowded.

So many VP players or whats left of them wouldn’t know about a paytable if it hit them sideways. My last trip to Mohegan took the cake. A lady playing 2 away from me was playing Deuces Wild. She was playing it like it was JOB at home. Tossing a single deuce and only keeping 2 or 3 dealt deuces. She had put in a hundred. When she was down to about 60 bucks, she got dealt 3 deuces. Drew the last one and cashed out. The old saying. Money goes to money. She was dressed in expensive clothes. Had a bag with her from coach with several things in it and another bag from the high end jewelry store at Mohegan. I only asked her once if she knew she was playing Deuces and not JOB. She barely acknowledged with a response so I just let her play that way.

We have 7 Star status, and enjoy any additional perks that come with it. On our recent trip to Harrahs Lake Tahoe and the El Dorado in Reno, however, such perks were noticeably absent,

I don't follow the reasoning behind the statement that it's Gold/Platinum players where the Casino gets its profits. Wouldn't the higher volume of play needed to reach that 7 Star status generate more casino profit than something less?

I love it! Bored, clueless winner winner. Was the denomination dollars? Give me that quad deuces every time, especially on DW. I have to scrounge for quad Aces and pray they show. Statistically, it's the same thing. I'll have to get into a long session on a trainer. You usually have a high old time with it. Once I see a nice low error rate, I'll take my talents to a real machine. But my problem with DW is the high percentage of junk deals thrown away. That's not my idea of fun. On JOB, BP, BPD there is more suspense and fun associated with a healthy amount of fruitful hands.

Yes she was playing dollars. I don’t notice a lot of junk hands on Deuces that don’t end up being at least a push.
