Another LH checking in. I don't golf, I gamble. But Mickelson does both, one very well and the other not so much. I'm sure he plays full coin if he plays VP though.
And Mr. Mickelson has the D'oh so he doesn't go dough if he were playing video poker. I could be wrong doe.

I was able to get some practice in this morning at Harrah's Joliet. Within the first hours I nailed 5oak at .50 denom for 2k. Left a couple hours later up $700.00. They had a tier score multiplier today so I lost a bit more than I should have. No picture though as my camera is full until I delete some pictures or get an SD card.

No No, I am not saying the follow-thru or any part of golf *has* to be more difficult left than right. But courses are laid out for right handed golfers, and most hands-on training, videos, and written instructions are designed for right handed golfers. So we see plenty of lefties who simply did not have the natural golf advantage for righties. Follow-thru makes or breaks the game and if a leftie does not have the same access to hands-on training, videos, and written instruction, then the leftie needs to work harder on an individual basis. My comment was based on 19 years as a pro at one of the largest courses in our state, and during that time I witnessed many lefties who did not have the same access and experience that a rightie had. All other skills and athleticism being equal, and this is very unfair, I would always choose a rightie for a partner in a tournament setting. There is a built-in disadvantage for a leftie in the game of golf. Overcome it by working harder on an individual basis, and especially on the "make-it-or-break-it" follow thru. And also.....follow-thru is not unique to golf but lefties in other sports play on a court or a field that was not built with the rightie in mind. As long as a quarterback or a basketball shooter has excellent follow-thru, he does not face the built-in disadvantage of the leftie.

I had a late night practice session this morning. I decided to drive 2 hours to AC, because I figured it would seem more like the real thing. I got there at 2:30. Once I was there, I found out you can't practice for free on their machines! You have to pay to practice! I didn't want to waste the trip so I ended up practicing for money. Fortunately I discovered I had $2,000 in one of my pockets, so I said what the hell, I'll practice a few hands. Since it was practice, I played full coin. And being practice, and practice being what it is (practice), I made sure to make very few mistakes.

I noticed that there isn't any training software on Harrah's machines, so it's not the best place to practice. Except, funny thing is, they actually offered me drinks while I was at the machine practicing. And they told me if I practiced enough, I would get all kinds of free stuff and they'd even let me sleep over!

It took me a while to get used to the whole idea- and I guess I made a LOT of mistakes, cause, I didn't get any good hands for awhile. But I guess my practice paid off cuz I hit a couple hands-

After that it started getting easier. I didn't have to put more money in, they let me play with my practice winnings. And I guess I learned fast cuz I got this-(it was hard to do)

and then this- (it was easy to do)

I hit one other hand where they came to me with money and a few other hands good for 250-600 credits. I made sure they wouldn't make me give them the money back that they gave me. They said I even earned rewards that accumulate; I think they said I got 2800 "rewards". All in all it was a great place to practice. Now I can't wait to do it for real!

Looking at all those numbers would give me a headache. The only numbers I care about are A, K, Q, J and T.

What a great practice session TripleTriple. I'm guessing you got something other than monopoly money placed into your outstretched hand?

Too bad that you weren't practicing Pai Gow, I'm thinking that a 9 card Royal would pay pretty well.

Congrats.

Congratulations. High Roller Revenge trip. You wiped out your YTD losses and may have a winning year. Very tough high variance game to play and emerge victorious. You obviously hit the bonus TC quota too. Who knew Harrah's would be so hospitable at 2:30 AM? I have suffered busts there at normal hours. You summon bad memories of Cove disasters.

This hand just says “Kick Me” to BP players.

TripleT great show. I wish I could practice here, but Webman said he has no plans to allow bets of more than 5 coins per hand. Disappointing, since so many casinos including Mine allow up to 25 units bet per hand. Unfortunately, I have to practice my Martingale play at the casino with real money. 😬

Getting back to L44 on golf for a moment. Around 1957, after watching my dad play in his corporate league and practice at home, I decided I would like to learn to play. My dad knew enough to have me take a few lessons from a local pro at the driving range near our house.
I used my paper Route money. I picked up quickly and played a lot since I could play all day with my friends for 1.50 at our local course. I also did some caddying and did well on the eighth grade golf team. I agree on the golf course design and quite often when I would forget my lessons end up in another fairway on a bad slice hit or even worse hazards than on the right side of the course. Of course if you don’t master your short game, you will never be able to maintain a decent score. My first set of clubs was 39 bucks signed by a famous left handed called Butchart Nicholls. He died way back in 1955. As a quick fix for a left handed slice, try dropping your right foot back a bit on the Tee. Too much though and you will end up with a duck hook. Foooooouuuuurrrrr……
