Good fireproof safe for us. We always tried to keep our 401G account separate even when in the bank it was another account number.

Your story reminded me of a story I heard this past week while with family in Missouri. A family member works for a tractor dealership and services a huge part of the midwest. Due to the supply chain shortage they often can't get parts in a timely manner. As the story goes, my family member is a leading parts salesperson. He told us pre-Covid/supply issues dealerships would call each other for a quick transfer of parts needed for a farmer. (The old, "Golden Rule".) Now, dealerships won't transfer in fear of not getting a needed part when they need it. So, my family member checks the companies parts inventory and finds the part at dealership in say Montana, calls direct to the dealer, says he's a farmer (he is) and orders the part, pays with his credit card, and has it shipped to his house. His boss, then reimburses his purchase or the farmer pays for it upon pickup. Told us he has bought from dealerships in 37 states so far. Claims his airline miles are going through the roof this year but his wife can't stand to look at the monthly billing. Said he had to raise his card limit to purchase so many parts but the card company was eager to assist such a big spender who paid his account off regularly. "American Ingenuity" or "Good Old Horse Sense!" ;)

A little of both I would say. I must say the Cuban people do similar things. I watched a show a couple of years ago where a Cuban guy altered his car and an outboard motor engine to run his I think it was 1954 Chevy. Amazing what they can and have to fabricate down there.
Nothing to do with the above, but my family had a 1954 Chevy when I was about 10 and I had a 1953 Chevy ( almost the same car ) when I was 21. I also had a 1966 beautiful low mileage 1966 Caddy in the early 1970s. All of those cars had an amazing ride quality.
Getting back on track a bit, we still have a completely operable 1950 Ford tractor on the family farm down in Southwest Virginia.
The story about the wife losing her job for doing nothing wrong really bothers me. Nearly 40 years ago, I was a Union Steward for a few years. I would have loved to have looked into that case back then!! Best of luck and health again dealing with that situation.
