Choctaw Trip OMG! 30 minute run!

Post by Lucky Larry »

Up to Missouri to visit an elderly family member turning 97. Stayed at Choctaw Durant on Thursday to split the long drive in half. The complex is nice and the new Sky Tower, built since we were last up there pre-Covid, is outstanding and beautiful. Go in early and had tickets to see Top Gun:Maverick early in the evening-super movie. Choctaw has a few quality games NSUD, 9/6 JOB in $1 denomination but they've never had 50-100 play multi-hand machines in our time up there. The new Sky Tower addition now has a huge area of non-smoking (probably around 1,000 machines and one nice bank of VP next to the Poker Room with 3-100 play machines. Rarely get to play Joker but found Kings or better and played through most of my money and then caught this nice Royal.

Finished our drive to Missouri and played 2 nights at Downstream, in OK a short drive from our hotel in Missouri with no luck. Headed home Monday and stayed at Choctaw. Played through our bankroll except for small amount with not hits. Dealt 4 RF several times but no joy.

Tuesday, June 7: Change of Plans. Let the good times roll!

Checked out at 11:00, the plan was to grab a quick lunch and then heading home to only turn around and head to GN-Lake Charles the next day to get rooms for our niece/husband who want to take a quick getaway. We get a text telling us they are cancelling due to work issues.
And, so the dilemma: stay and rest and play or drive home. Being exhausted we went back to the hotel and got another comped room.

After dinner I'm playing between 10-20 hands 25¢ and can't get my timing down. I move to 2¢ and catch a Royal. Go tell Candy, stretch my back and as I sit back back down my name is being called for the 9:00 drawing. Wow! I'm am absolutely astounded to have been drawn. So I head to Rewards (wherever that is?) and take my $1,250 drawing gift from Choctaw.

We keep playing and at 11:00 pm the REAL fun begins. I catch 4 deuces my first for the trip.

11:08 I catch a Royal holding 3 RF. I send Sweet C a text and picture.

11:10 She sends a text back, "My turn" and has caught 4 deuces on $1 single hand for $1,000

11:23 Dealt a KJ on 11 hand DW, I catch another Royal for $1,000. I go to text Sweet C and she comes around the corner telling me she headed to the RR. Congratulates me on the RF and can't believe two Royals on top of the Drawing and her Deuces.

Royal 2.jpg

11:28 I'm dealt 3RF on 17 hands and catch a 3rd Royal. I just sit there and stare, then look at Sweet C when she returns. She looks at the screen and says, "You haven't played since I left?" I tell her #3 and we are both totally astonished by the 3 Royals in 20 minute run.

Closed the night with two more 4 deuces and called it a night. Wow! What a night! Oh, and the 4 Royal trip put us over 300 at 302 Royals we've hit $1,000 or greater since we began playing and 15 for the year so far. Thank you Aunt Bettie for my good luck on your birthday, June 7! We love you!

Fantastic trip, hits, and news. That other dimension we can’t explain was on your and Sweet C’s side for sure. Small world. My dad who I lost last March would have been 97 this June also. Stay safe and well and enjoy things while we still can. Heading up to Mohegan Sun/ Bizarro world with the Mrs for an overnight Thursday. Hey its past midnight so Thursday is here already. Hope to post even a fraction of your guys good hits late evening Thursday night or early Friday morning.

LL, sounds like you and Sweet C were at the brink of a lousy trip from a VP perspective only to come roaring back following, from a VP perspective, a fortuitous change of plans. Congrats.

OTABILL,
I think the being called for the drawing, while not at your regular casino, especially not having played but a couple of hours prior to earn chances was the most surprising event. I've had my name drawn at Golden Nugget twice in one night for $1,000 each time but I had played for hours prior to the start of drawings which increased my number of entry chances. But, that was not the case this time, and obviously it was a card play activated entry since I didn't scan my card to enter the drawing. Saved our bacon and certainly set us up for our Anniversary trip to Vegas next month. Driving home later, I laughed and told Candy she needed to check if she had Native American ancestors (born in the Midwest) her response was that a great-grandmother on one side was in a picture (circa early 1900's) and looked pure Native American. Time for a DNA check so we can thank her ancestors for our luck at Durant Choctaw Casino!

Not only a 4 royal trip but one in each suit with a sequential thrown in. Nice work.

I read yesterday that $1.00 denomination sequential royal hit in Las Vegas last Tuesday for $315,000.00.

Have a nice day.
