Which reminds me. Sometimes even though I have shrunk about 2 inches over the years, make sure my pay table is either bet 800 or 940 for bet one, or play at least bet five at a lower denomination if I have to. Also, BEWARE…..the casinos are sneaking in some 10 and even 15 coin minimums now to get paid the correct amount for a Royal. Also the bar tops on quarter machines are being re programed at Bizarro world on the quarter machines with a 2 quarter bet minimum. I guess that is to keep away those minimum level players who don’t drink and also the all day and night drunks who sit there to get the free drinks and plop in a single quarter every fifteen minutes or so.

I favor the two coin minimum. They should extract some revenue out of the tightwad miscreants hell bent on abusing the system. Especially at the bar, where they’re essentially clogging revenue streams. Bally’s did the ten coin minimum for the RF five years ago. I’ve avoided it since even though it’s next door to Caesars.

Thanks AP. I know so much factors into whether anyone actually hits the big one. But I’ve now been a hapless and bitter witness to two on that one in a narrow period. I know what machine to park myself at in the future. It’s hot, mine is not.

FAA,
I've known the feeling. Years ago I sensed someone watching me play. A gentleman was behind me and when I turned he apologized and indicated he was trying to learn how to play VP. Since it felt like I couldn't catch two cards the same color I asked if he wanted to try and I'd tutor him on Deuces Wild. Long story short, about 30 minutes into the tutorial with me checking on him when he asked for advice. I heard him say he had "caught 4 deuces". I was happy for him until I realized it had been dealt to him. 25 hands of 4 deuces (even on 1¢) was more than I could handle. I falsely congratulated him, crying inside, "why didn't you deal that to me on my 5¢?"
