5 Card Plus 2 Poker

I just saw a new game at one of the SoCal Indian reservation casinos, called "5 Card Plus 2 Poker." It's an IGT game, but I haven't seen anything on it anywhere (nothing from Wizard of Odds or anyone else). By doubling your bet, you may get 2 extra cards on some of your hands (if they qualify---I'm not sure what that means, but I believe it means if the extra 2 cards improve your hand). There are pay amounts for 7 card hands (i.e., on Deuces Wild, you can get up to 7 of-a-kind), including 4 of a kind plus 3 of a kind, etc. I have no clue what the payback percentage is, although the game I looked at had full pay DDB and Ugly Deuces. Anyone else see this game yet?

FIVE CARD PLUS 2 POKER - Video Poker
Ascent: Multi-Hand

When playing at max bet, players are eligible to get two additional cards on any hand. Any time a “+2” symbol appears on the fifth card, two additional cards are dealt on that hand.

Players have the opportunity to win on both the 5-card paytable and the 7-card paytable. The 7-card paytable offers unique card combinations leading to more big win opportunities than are usually found in standard 5-card video poker titles.

Me - The above is right from IGT's website.

Thanks, Tedlark. I would love to see the Wizard of Odds analyze the game.

Curious how you know it's full pay DDB if you haven't seen analysis?

What I meant is that the paytable for 5 credits play on the screen shows the full-pay DDB paytable (9-6, of course).

9/6 DDB may be the best you have seen but I have played 10/6 DDB in the past. No idea if it is still available anywhere.

I never liked the 9-6 DDB game being called "full pay" when it's just a 98.98% return. Yes, I have seen the 10-6 version. There was a 100-play 10-6 DDB at the Jamul Casino in South San Diego County---I enjoyed the game immensely (only was able to get there 3 or 4 times), but it didn't last long, maybe 3 or 4 months. I believe it had denom up to 50c which was way too rich for my blood. I think there are a couple of 10-6 games around, but at a very small denomination.

They have this game in Reno at the Peppermill. Played a bit nickel 9/7 triple double. Was 9/7 for the base game so one way to play fp triple double low stakes if forgo bonus bet. Twenty something percent chance to get extra 2 cards. Playing 5 lines there were plenty of times with no bonus cards but also many times where multiple hands get the extra cards . Wish I had taken pictures of the pay tables cuz some of the 7 card hands paid out very well

BigKatz Poker (a video poker YouTube influencer) posted a short video clip about this game recently during a visit at IGT offices.

It definitely has the feel of 3-Way Action Poker, where you are guaranteed 2 additional cards every round.

One big issue I potentially have with this game is that it seems the player is not guaranteed to draw 2 additional cards, the percentage must at least be given to come up with the strategy/return. Getting 7 cards definitely have an impact on the strategy holds over the conventional 5 card hand.

The boxes of the winning hand outcome seems like King Show Games (the other video poker developer that sources games to IGT such as Super Hot Roll Poker and Big Wheel Poker) will be producing this game. The one game that is most widely available from them is Hot Roll Poker, their other titles are rare to find.

There is actual gameplay footage on YouTube from the Lucky Legion Poker channel

The Barona Casino in the Southern California region has it available. Even the base 5 credit pay table is quite decent in its own right, Airport DW and 8/6 Bonus Poker Deluxe available for 3 hand dimes.

The HELP page does mention the frequency in which the +2 cards appear which is needed to work on strategy. The rates are different by game variant and paytable. I am very fortunate that the content creator decided to show it on a per game basis.
