Las Vegas, 9/16/24 - 9/18/24

I have been laying low casino trip wise because I was heading out to Las Vegas for a work event 9/16/24 - 9/19/24.
Landed Monday, mid-afternoon. Checked into Cosmopolitan with some co-workers and hung with them through dinner. I then pulled an Irish Goodbye and Ubered over to Rio.
I went to Rio more out of nostalgia than anything, wanting to see what had changed since it was no longer controlled by Caesars. Upon walking in, wow! The place was in mid-remodeling shape and actually looked bad this way. I decided to play anyway as I wanted to get on their radar because they have been sending me some decent room/freeplay/dining comps.
Searching for a familiar bank of 3/5/10 play machines, I found that they were gone. Walking around, I found an All Star II machine and decided to give it a whirl. Playing for a while, not doing anything too spectacular:
After getting paid off, I plodded on. About 30 minutes later:
That was it, getting late and I had to be up at 5:30 am so I called it a night and headed back to Cosmopolitan for some sleep.
Tuesday, spent the entire day at the work event. Afterward, I decided to go to Caesars. Ubered over. Played a bar machine and dumped a grand. Walked around and found an All Star II machine and sat down. Played some 10 play TDB and dumped $500.00. Switched to Dream Card and:
I did hit a royal on Dream Card but failed to snap a picture. I went to Peter Luger and had a very good steak with some diced potatoes. Very tasty. After eating, I decided to go back to Cosmopolitan and try my luck there.
Upon arriving back to Cosmopolitan, I can say this about them. Their video poker selection is, poor. I was very disappointed with their lack of video poker machines. I ended up in the high limit room at a Hundred Play machine, starting out playing 20 hands at a time, .25 denom. I was kinda sorta holding my own, got a royal (sorry, no pic) and upped the number of hands to 40 and try my luck. After hitting the royal I upped my hands to 60. Playing for a bit, rewarded with:
Dumped almost all back after getting paid, called it a night and went up to my room. Grumbling at myself.
Wednesday work thing from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm, including dinner with coworkers. Irish Goodbye and then walked over to Paris. Went on a search for some video poker and found a 10 play All Star II machine that had some broken buttons. Decided to play anyway because it looked as if the guy playing next to me was getting ready to leave. The guy eventually left and I jumped over to his machine. Playing for a bit, then: Oops, new post coming.
