Lucky in Louisiana

Mr L and I decided to try our luck in Lake Charles this weekend. Left Friday after work for an overnight stay (comped) at the Isle. Checked in about 8:30 pm and off to L'Auberge to use our coupon for 2 free buffets. The buffet line was long, so we decided to gamble a bit before dinner. Mr L only plays slots, but spin poker is my favorite.
The bank of spin poker (.05, .10, .25, $1) was full, so I waited till one was open and started with $100 and max bet .10. During the hour I played before we went to dinner I was dealt 5 K's, dealt FH 3 times and got the 5 A's on the draw 4 times. Then dealt me D, D, D, A, J - I held the 3-D's & A, hit draw and it gave me another D!! Paid $600.00, 4D & A - 3 ways. Cashed out my before dinner ticket ($702), found Mr L and went to dinner.
After dinner, back to the same spin machine to try my luck again. I started with $100 and max bet .10. The second hand was dealt 5 - 8's, so I changed bet to max bet .25 - casino $$ so why not, right? The machine was playing hot and winning consistantly. About 30 mins into my play I was dealt D, D, 4, J, A - I held 2 D's & A, hold breath, draw and get another D & A! Paid 2445 quarters = $611.25. Played another 30 mins or so and cashed out $1,013.
Back to Isle for the night and to try their spin poker machines. Isle machines were dead, no hits on spin, multi hand .05, or progressive vp. Mr L lost all night long, so we called it a night. Off to bed with a nice bankroll, thanks to LB.
On way home Saturday, we stopped at Delta Downs. Mr L only plays slots and was on a losing streak all Friday night. I suggested Delta so he could try his luck and gave him more $$. I am not much of a slots player, but decided to be a good sport and try a few machines. I got on a .05 Monopoly progressive game w/ random bonus's (3 rows across, 5 columns). Started w/ $40, playing $2.50 spin and got a bonus. Never having played this before, I had no idea what was going on. The monopoly guy came out and hit bells that made the entire column wild. Well, he gave me wild's on the last 4 columns and with what had landed on the first column = win 14850 coins = $742.50. After that I max bet ($5), and kept playing. I proceeded to get 2 more bonus's, a 5000 coins ($250) and a 5825 coins ($291.25). Cashed out $1100, found Mr L (still on his losing streak) and left.
Now any sane person would head home, but no.... back to L'Auberge we went. Yes my suggestion - vp was pulling me back!! I got back on my bank of spin poker (.05), put in $200 and played max bet for 2 hours. No big wins this time, but cashed out my ticket for $185, found Mr L (still losing) and went home.
It was nice to pay back the bank and stash some of the casino's money for our Biloxi trip (courtesy of a Beau Rivage free trip offer) at the end of the month.
