Bait and switch or ??

The scene:
Diamond player at Harrah's. Called my host and requested an offer that was stated on their website as valid 12/01/10 through 12/23/10.
A few days later I received an email stating that the offer was only good for specific dates during that period. There is nothing anywhere that I can find that shows these dates. I emailed her back and told her that I thought the dates as stated were valid and should be honored. Haven't received a reply as of yet.
Has anyone ever run into a similar situation? I feel that if they omitted the dates or decided not to honor the dates because they made a mistake, I should be able to get the offer as stated.
Opinions?

i let my diamond card go as harrahs downgraded all their vp the best at 25c level is -2.5% in las vegas for a while they ahd 50 play 5c 9/6 job 99.54% which i could get flight and rooms comped plus base plus bonus points at 100,000 coin in the average cost was $446.00 but with all comps gifts i used during the year it was a good deal and in las vegas i got comped 4 nites at a time at the rio played 8 hands $10 dollar coin in at 8/5 job game average loss 25c @97.5% and played fpdw or 100.65 joker poker at palms. now the next best is nsud at gold coast to get comps at 99.73% play $20,000 coin in and the comp lettters will come. it appears that my hope will not come to pass as it now looks as harrahs will live and not file ch 11 which will likely further hurt vp. get what you can out of harrahs and find a new casino

I have been a 7Star at Harrah's for several years. I can honestly say that I have never had a problem with them honoring an offer. In fact, my experience has been just the opposite, frequently getting more than any specific offer contained. I do not beleive that they would choose to treat a Diamond differently than that. I would recommend that, as oppossed to EMails, you speak directly with a host at the property that you are interested in. If you are not satisfied with the answer, ask to speak with the Host Manager. As an FYI, however, an experience recently with MGM/Mirage properties in Vegas had been similar to what you described. I was sent an offer that I wanted to use at New York-New York, but was then told that "my current level of play did not support that offer". I live in Florida, so the offer was to GET ME to Vegas to play, I thought. Apparantly not, in their eyes. So I just told them to look out the window during that week, and maybe they would see me going into one of their competitors with my play, because I wouldn't be at NY/NY.

Yea don't ever read what is on the Harrahs website its horrible, out of date and everything in between. I was looking for a specific tournament I had Harrah's CR telling me one date through email while my host was telling me another date. On the website it wasn't even listed. Finally the local host was right. The CR at HQ didn't have a clue what was going on at my local casino.

If you received a confirmation number for the original dates you scheduled, then they should honor it.

Thanks all.
My host called me last night and told me there was an error on the website listing, but that they were going to honor the offer since it was their mistake (and that I was such a nice guy). WooHoo 750 in Reel Rewards.
