Happy Days Are Here Again!

Apparently, MGM Detroit wanted my money back so they sent me a two night offer for the first time. We hopped on it immediately lest it be the only offer they would ever send. I was rewarded with three hand pays the first evening. TDB: quad 4s w k for $2K. Soon after that hand pay, on a nada deal, quad 3s w k on the draw for another $2K. A short time later, playing DWB, I saved two to the royal on spades and that royal connected for $4K. All single line $ play. I handed that royal to my personal banker husband for safe keeping to ensure it made it home with us. A fifty play nickel machine was a huge disappointment for me after waiting for two days to find one of five available. Once at Greektown, I was dealt deuces on DW on a fifty play for $3,600. but nothing great has happened to me since on a fifty play.
MGM Detroit is a huge casino, with great restaurants and a state of the art 4 star hotel. There is an amazing rust color natural marble full wall behind the reservation desk and another gray natural marble full wall around the corner across from the Sundry Store. The "LIVING ROOM" beyond registration has an impressive, narrow in height, gas fireplace running the entire length of the wall. This is definitely the focal point of that area! The smaller framed mirror on the huge bathroom mirror becomes a TV screen when you use the remote control located there! I saw no "commode" (out of respect for any John who may be reading) in the bathroom at first glance. The sinks looked pretty high to me. I returned to the room and a closet offered nothing I needed. Next to the frosted glass shower enclosure was another frosted glass door leading to the stall.
I had the amazing, huge, rectangular pool with a wing to myself. There are several large palm plants and rattan furniture with white upholstery and pillows. One huge full wall has dark wood paneling. Another huge full wall is covered with small gray limestone slabs in varying sizes. There are fifty huge white light orbs suspended from the ceiling with chain and wood that look like mobiles. They are stationary but look as if they would sway in a breeze. The beautiful picture continues in the spacious locker room where there is a hot tub and sauna. A sitting room provides fresh, chilled fruit, beverages and magazines. Provided are all kinds of useful goodies you could possibly need from a lotion bar, to dental floss, comb and razors. Both service and security seemed excellent and we never had to open a door during our stay!

Thank you, Jim, luigi1, Jane and pokernut.
No pix/no camera with me, alas. Besides I have not been successful in posting pix here and am running out of clever friends to ask to post pix for me. That royal in spades was a beauty!
MGM Detroit HOTEL is smoke free and there is a smoke free room at the entrance for slots and VP. I found better VP paytables elsewhere in the casino. Michigan became smoke free in public places last year but alas casinos are exempt. My clothes picked up that smoke odor. That casino is SO big that it is easy to find machines not near smokers. Someone teaching her friend to play VP sat down next to me...save that, toss that...YIKES! There were plenty of other empty machines all around us. Why me?
On the way to MGM, my husband ranted when he realized we would first catch free buffets and other bonuses at Windsor Caesars. "They will search our car again, they will confiscate our car and computer! I don't wanna go there!" Here's your passport, I replied. I have never seen him eat so much in a buffet as at their scrumptious Market Place. I wish you could see the huge circle of desserts!!! All kinds of toppings for their individual cheese cakes. No line or hassel at that border on either crossing!
At MGM the next day, I misjudged the breakfast time. We drove a couple miles to Greektown's Bistro 555 lovely buffet breakfast with thick waffles and omelettes made to order and left some of my winnings.

Welcome to forum, ICURN and thank you!Farmer1, Thank you. Enjoy the sold out Bruno Mars concert in that amazing 5K seat auditorium. Bruno: Grammy award winner and best new breakout artist of 2010. Also, Janelle Monae:soulful talent and fellow Grammy Award nominee. For an expressive evening of pop and R & B hits. You might wish to take binoculars, although there are two large screens that help. Let me know if this is your first trip to Windsor Caesars or if you have questions about the casino.
