Really Bad Day

Normally I can play for a few hours without losing a great deal. Today was not the case. I was playing 9/6 Jacks or Better. I was playing quarters. I had brought in a bankroll of $200. Sadly the money went without getting a flush of any kind, full house or quads. Best I hand was three of a kind. Finally the $200 was gone. It was a very expensive buffet that I received.Hopefully I am over this! Hope everyone plays well and makes a few dollars in the midst of the fun.

We all have those days. The good news is we all have days when we hit extra good hands as well.

I think Id have played fiveplay nickles instead of one-line quarters. $200 should last longer that way.

I doubt very much one could find 5-play nickels in 9/6 JOB. Going to 8/5 or even 9/5 would be much worse over time.

No? Ive played it at MoheganSun and an indian place called Avi near Laughlin, Nevada. I didnt understand the comment that ended with "over time". The op just went there once didnt he? In such a case 8/5 or 9/5 jacksorbetter 5play would still probably last longer than what he played.

Yes, sorry for your negative fluctuation. If it makes you feel better I have had a far worse run once in my 23 year career. When the Frontier was offering a $100 bonus for hitting Four of a Kind I went the entire 24 hour duration of the coupon without hitting a single Four. The loss was $3,700 on dollars. It is noteworthy that I was up $16,000 on the promotion prior to this bad run. It is also noteworthy that I took breaks to eat and play a progressive there, so the run did not occur on a single machine. And finally, it is important to note that over the next few months I made back the loss and about $24,000 more before the Frontier did away with the promo. If machines are truly random, what you experienced is perfectly normal and expected. Similar results would be expected whether one plays a single machine or spreads their play over many machines. It is a artifice of accumulating sequential data from a random sampling and not proof of hot and cold machines.Imagine you had played only one hand on several thousand machines in a row. Again one would expect such results to be possible and by extension expected.~FK
