Speaking of fewer and lower tips for slot employees, there's also the fact of fewer employees. So here's what I do- if I'm waiting for someone to acknowledge the jackpot I just hit, I call the main number of the casino and tell them exactly where I am and within minutes someone comes. Felt bad the last time I did this because the slot woman said they went from 300 employees on the floor to just 30. Is this possible?   Of course this is not the case if you are playing in high limit areas b/c they actually sprint to get to you!

After ten minitues of not seeing another living soul, customer or employee, I stood on my chair and started calling out. It was another ten minutes before anyone came. It was a janitor. This is not a new problem.

This is one thing I do like about Harrah's (besides having a pretty good quarter).  Their system automatically sends an attendant to you.  No waiting, no wondering around looking for someone. Last year at MGM I had a hand pay in a row that was pretty much blocked by a large column (up by the lobby).  I think it was 20 or so minutes before I was able to flag someone down and get an attendant.  I probably spent 10 of those minutes thinking someone was coming because I'm so used to it at Harrah's.  I also think it was a maintenance person. Roveer 

The Borgata is quick to respond. I didn`t have to what long for a pay-out . I usuallly wait untill there gone to take pictures.  

If you think 20 or 30 minutes is a long wait, I saw a lady get dealt a royal and have to wait nearly 2 HOURS to receive a $1,600 hand pay at Caesars AC last winter. Granted, the casino floor was dead but there is no excuse for that. As you might imagine, the woman was extremely frustrated and angry

The Isle is usually very prompt on payouts unless its very busy. But, we had a funny payout in 2008.

Sweet C could not hit where we were playing so I suggested she try the machines in a back room which had a few VP machines. While playing she inadvertently hit the max play button (10 coin $). A couple of hands later she caught the RF for $8K.   She didn't realize why the machine showed only $800 but the machine locked up.   After about ten minutes with no one showing up she sent a lady playing by her to find me. After about 15 minutes later a security guard walks by and offers to tell someone.

Story goes that the machine wasn't communicating a hand-pay since it was only showing $800 not $8,000. No problem getting the correct payout but we didn't play another hand until they paid her.

That made me LOL

We have experienced waiting what seems like forever for a hand pay. You would think casinos would respond faster as they are theoretically losing money when a patron is not playing.

Two obstacles to quick pays: 1) reduced staff; 2) the longer the casino takes the more interest your money draws for them.
