Shockwave 4-of-a-kind

At the Horseshoe Hammond, they have mostly IGT multi-game multi-denom machines. My strategy it to play several different games on the same machine just in case the Royal is "hiding" in one of them. So this past weekend, I ended up playing Shockwave and was doing pretty well hitting full-houses and flushes which pay 50 and 40 respectively on max coins ($1 denom). Anyway, I finally hit a 4-of-a-kind and went into Shockwave mode. Well of course I've experienced Shockwave mode many times before and it never hit a 4-of-a-kind within the 10 hands, so I wasn't expecting anything. On the 6th hand I saved a pair of 8's and whaddya know, the other two 8's popped up for a jackpot of 4000. I was so surprised that I yelled out "YES!" loudly, triggering a number of questions from lookers on about what Shockwave mode was and how could a measly quad of 8's have such a high pay out.

keith,
Congrats! That's a great hit! I always loved the Shockwave Game, but have never hit the 4oak within the 10 hands alloted in the shockwave mode. Many times I've been dealt trips in shockwave mode, but never worked out to my benefit. Also, I've had a few quads hit on hands 11-15 after the initial quad.. that is very irritating! I once saw someone playing next to me hold a dealt full house in shockwave mode.. I could have strangled them.. LOL

What's really irritating is to break up the full house and get it back with the other two cards you just tossed.

RF, no one is going to do it. It's just irritating, that's all. I missed TWO $1000 jackpots yesterday playing OEJs. In both cases I made the correct play. It's still irritating.

just as irratating as seeing the player next to me hit royal at palms fpdw keeping only a single ace. As you and i both know if everyone plays perfectly the casinos would not have any fp machines the average is 2% below perfect

I really enjoy Shockwave. On my first attempt at playing this game at my local harrah's I was fortunate enough to hit quads twice in Shockwave mode, once being dealt 'em!What are the odds of that???Since then however,it's been a tough go.Also, what is considered a good pay table for this game.My local casino has it at 10/8/5 at the .25 level.

Full pay is 12/8/5 and that is only 99.6%.

I too love shockwave without much success until one day I was about 1/2 asleep in shockwave mode for the gazillith time and held two 7's and caught the other two. That woke me up

But what really annoys me is getting 4 Aces with the Kicker in Shockwave for $125 after playing DDB all day.

Even worse when it happens while playing DW.
