Got really really tired on not hitting a Royal in over 220k hands playing quarters and a few dollar machines. I figured there was one way to break the ice and it did. Play the lowest denomination machine I could find at Mohegan Sun. I settled on a 5 cent Multi Strike machine and played Double Bonus Deuces Wild. After a couple of hours, I caught the Royal on the bottom line so no multiplier and adding insult to injury, by paying me only 250 for one on top of it. I had 6 nickels in at the time, so it paid a whopping 75 bucks. Luckily, later in the evening I caught 4 Deuces on a 15/9/4/4 quarter machine. I hope I can get back to hitting Royals every 40k hands or so on quarters, because it hasn't worked that way in the past.

I feel your pain.  I gave up thinking about Royals and changed my strategy to go for $1,000 quad deuces instead.  What good is a $1,000 Royal if it costs you $5,000 to hit one?   Royals just happen, but they don't add  much to my game.  They do seem to come in pairs.  Maybe you'll hit another one next week? 

Or maybe hit some of my other favorites like deuces with the Ace, deuces on double down stud, etc. etc.....I seem to hit these hands right on average, but like you said about the elusive Royal, they don't much to the game in the long run and it gets expensive to chase them

OLDS, I play 5-line nickels usually JoB and seem to hold my own. The amount wagered is the same as single line quarters. I used to play exclusively single line but multi line has worked for me. I wish you luck in your quest to get back on track.

So far my experiments with multi line especially on Multi Strike have worked out well. Not as consistent though on Spin Poker. Sometimes you just run out of time and sometimes money on single line games waiting for that special hit.

Dear olds442jetaway. Congrats,but where did you find a nickel Multi Strike machine in Mohegan Sun? I only saw 25c Multi Strike.

There are only 2 that I know of and are multi denomination which is nice. One is the first machine on the right as you go up the 3 stairs to the old poker room. That room is almost all vp now, but smokey. The other one is just past the mall. Not far from the Cabaret thearer. It is on the right side in with a lot of other vp. There is a bar nearby. I forget the name. There is also a ultra high roller section within view and above from this machine. Good luck.
