Tunica Trip June 2014
Posted: Mon Jun 09, 2014 8:05 pm
Just returned from a trip to Tunica for a golf event. Rain, rain and more rain. We got the event in, but it was plenty soggy. I had a great time, even though my team did not cash in the tournament.
As far as gaming, I had a good trip. No big blockbuster hands, but some good hand pays. Nothing in slots, but table games were profitable, and I finally broke though with a good VP gaming trip. The pickings in Tunica for VP is poor, though, with very little TDB - my game of choice. The casinos - namely Gold Strike, Horseshoe and Roadhouse, were pretty busy. This was the first weekend that Harrah's Tunica was closed, so maybe that had an effect.
I played mainly at two machines that I found - a Five Star Poker $1 denom in RoadHouse and a 3-line $1 denom in Gold Strike, both of which had TDB. I played a little on $5 single line, but they only had DDB. No RFs this trip, though. Here are some pics...

Always nice to start out with a hand pay off of some FreePlay..
Also, every Saturday in June, The RoadHouse Casino is giving away a horse. Well, I had to try and win it, of course. I wasn't successful in winning the horse, but I scored a picture with the Rodeo Clown of the Year for FIVE YEARS RUNNING. His name is Lecile Harris. In the 1950's and '60's, he was a session drummer at the now famous Memphis Sun Studio and Hi Studio, playing on many hits of the era. He landed a regular role in the early years of the TV series, "Hee Haw" remaining there for over five years. He also had parts in the movies, "Walking Tall, Final Chapter", "The Last Days of Frank and Jesse James", "W.W. and the Dixie Dance Kings", the TV series, "Elvis", as well as other movies and television shows.
That's me on the right, BTW...
A quick trip turnaround for me, as I am off to Vegas on Wednesday. Gonna play some golf in the hot desert, and attend a dinner with Caesar's Vegas President, Gary Selesner.
Wish me luck...
