Another Harrah's Visit...

Here was this weekend's Harrah's visit. Was a pretty crazy visit. All over the place. It was a Saturday night and the place was crowded. Not at all to my liking. I like it when it's empty. Being a weekend it was Slappy's time to be there. I've posted about slappy before. He's the guy who pounds on the buttons and I mean pounds. Hits the deal button 5-7 times every time. There's a Mrs slappy too. She's not really a button pounder, but she's got her own quirks. Now I never really paid much attention to how slappy played but when he plunked down right next to me I couldn't help but notice. Not only is he "slappy", but he's an awful player. I saw multiple mistakes including holding non-suited face cards with an Ace playing DDB. Later I saw his wife doing it as well. Other mistakes as well. Was pretty surprised at this revelation. Anyway, enjoy.

With getting hits like that, I'd learn how to zone out Mr. & Mrs. Slappy. Congrats roveer.

That's a pretty minor mistake with KJ or KQ. And QJ is better than just an Ace. Not holding two pair with Kings, Queens, or Jacks is way worse.

VERY Interesting hits, particularly the dreamcard hand at $5 a credit!!!   Holy shiite!   that's $50 a deal!!!    Please tell me you were just "screwing around" with that one and not actually playing for very long (beyond 15 minutes) at that level?!?!    You make me Nervous SIR!!!   I just do not want you to get hurt again where you feel you need to quit for a while......But I agree with the "slappy" comments, and I think that I might have actually run into the same people when I was at Harrahs during my last sojourn to AC.....I was playing at a four machine bank and he/she/they were on the two machines directly opposite me.   They were making the whole gad-dam bank shake with each "slap"!!!!    ANYWAY.......To Roveer, JIMDEUCES and everyone else:   Look for my post in the ATLANTIC CITY forum section about my NEXT AC visit starting with LABOR DAY WEEKEND!!!

I will most likely stay away while my comps build up. These trips can be debilitating physically and emotionally. Especially since I can't enjoy a beer... I find I enjoy them better when I space them apart. I also stay away during busy times so the upcoming Labor Day would be a no go for me.

Oh rest assured, that was a few hand dalliance at that level. That machine plays 1,2,5 denom so I start at 1 and sometimes bounce to 2 or 5 but then go running to the hills if nothing is happening. 50 bucks a hand is not uncommon for me. My dollar 10 handed STP is 60 bucks a hand and when things are working I can play at that level for hours. Again, when it's not working I run away to .50 and down to 5 hand or even 3 hand. You'll notice the Royal was .50 5 hand. I find that you can wear out a certain denomination and hand and have to go looking elsewhere when they are not hitting. Don't worry for me. I go into this thing eyes open and fulling understanding the risks involved. About the only thing I still have to reconcile in my game play is accepting a reasonable return vs a huge return. Unfortunately this can be difficult when you bring physiological baggage of life into the casino. This is one of my last big hurdles. Of course I'm closely watching to determine the next best time to "take a break" and have to feel based on the previous sessions that this time is soon approaching.

I, for one, applaud your self-inspection, Roveer, with regard to monitoring your play. I have played enough VP over the years to know when I have had a good run, and I am able to walk away, at least for that day.

And, yes, I know that playing in the casino as we do is just one, big, long session, whether you break it up or not. For my entertainment value, though, I feel better when I walk at what I perceive to likely be the "high point" in my playing.
