Mohegan Sun Trip

Just back this afternoon from an overnight. Tried to live up to my new nickname coined by Tedlark..." The Comeback Kid. " Well I pulled it off again but just barely.
I started out playing Double Down Stud Bonus Deuces Wild hoping for a big hit up front. That didn't happen so several hours later and minus 300 bucks I decided to play a few more hours using Fla Phil's method. Started out not too bad. Lots of back and forth and I did catch Deuces quads but unfortunately with one coin in. I was just not hitting on those subsequent max bet hands so I decided to keep track of the numbers. I think I played the correct way by waiting for a one coin hit of 4 or more then playing 5 quarters. After dropping another hundred, I decided to make my one coin bet 5 quarters and my max bet the machine max of 25 quarters after a hit of 4 or more at the 5 quarter level. Making a short story longer, I went 23 consecutive tries at max bet after a hit of 4 or more times my initial bet and got absolutely nothing. In other words, after 23 separate hits of 4 or more times my bet, I had 23 separate dud hands at max bet.
That pretty much finished off my budget for the day except my going home gas money and my emergency hundred dollar bill I only use when I get one of those last minute feelings of a comeback. Caught a good nap upstairs, some really good coffee and bagel, nice chat with the concierge folks and gave it one more try with 45 minutes of play time left.
Much to my surprise the lone Multi Strike game with the nickel option was open. This machine lets you play nickels or quarters and up to ten units bet per line. With only the hundred left, I opted for the nickel game which still costs two bucks a bet. This machine also has good paytables one being 9/6 for TDB. I knew I needed close to a home run to get my 700- plus back and no time to do it.
I went back and forth for awhile then pretty much straight down. I was on my next to the last bet. I got dealt 3 Aces on the second line after a small hit on the deal line. I held the Aces and was able to pull not only the 4th Ace, but a 2 to go with it. That made the payoff good for 16,000 nickels or 800 bucks. I played off the scraps and went home sixty five cents to the good. I'm glad at least I was again able to live up the new name Ted gave me.
