A Royal Save

A number of posters on this site have told stories of coming back from a deep hole. I have one to add. I was taking a serious beating from Ultimate X and was about to call it a night with my pockets just about empty. The above hand allowed me to climb out of the ditch and actually take about 3K home. It was quite the roller coaster ride

Fantastic hit mugrat, congrats to you. Being one of those who's posted comeback stories I've ridden that roller coaster myself. Perfect line up with that 10X hand.   Congrats again.

Tedlark - thanks. I figured that since I had 5 hands with a 10X multiplier to choose from, I would just pick the one right in the middle to make for a better photo. (LOL) Actually, needing a $10K hit to get out of a deep hole is certainly exciting, but not my preferred way to play!

congrats, coming from down $7k to up $3k in one play! i appreciate the complete update.  one thing i am learning is i am such a low roller. shows that we a have a wide variety of players on this site.

Awesome hit!   But pointing out you were only $3k ahead afterward really shows how swingy this game is when played for extended periods. Hope more big hits come your way!

Amazing to catch the Royal Flush on one of those 10x multipliers. I believe 12x is the highest. Ultimate X is too much for me to handle.

Thanks for sharing!

Everyone's comments made me think a lot about Ultimate X and why I choose to play such a volatile game. I have logged countless hours playing thousands of hands on this particular game and have experienced some unbelievable swings both up and down. I'd be very interested to hear from the group on whether catching a large jackpot that saves you from a sizable losing session (however you define sizable) would leave you feeling happy that you finally caught a big one, or just relieved that you escaped unharmed. Obviously if the hit is so big that the reward clearly justified the effort/endurance marathon, then that's a different story. Thoughts?

I think the happy feeling of finally catching a big hand comes before the thought of being relieved to be pulled out of the hole. After enduring a marathon session that is spiraling downward it definitely puts a spring in your step when you do catch that hail mary ace or whatever 5th card you needed to fill in the royal.
