Yep love those horn bettors. Though many years ago I posted about a homeless lady in Atlantic City who found a white chip on the floor bet number 12 on it and turned it into $27000 dollars By letting it ride two more times After the first hit

Why would you expect a 98% game to pay out 98% daily or even weekly? Lets say a RF cycle is exactly 40,000 hands. Its gone 39,999 without hitting a Royal. Obviously its not going to reflect the math, and is paying about 96%. The next day the same machine hits two royals in the span of another 40,000 hands. Now the machine is paying out about 100% that day. Is it a better machine than it was yesterday?
Suppose a casino informed you what the payout on the machine was for the last 24 hours. One machine is at 95% payout on a 9/6 game, the other is at 99%. Which machine do you play and why?

I'd play the machine that FAA just vacated, for obvious reasons..

Kidding, kidding.......gotcha back for bringing up craps in a discussion about RNGs.

i think this a great question, making for an interesting discussion. i will be the dummy and assume the 'proper' answer is that it does not matter.

but, i just wonder if in real life, even those who totally believe in the rng, if given the option to sit at a machine, would sit at the one that just had a royal.

a while back, there was a discussion that included DANCER, about how he selects the machine he plays. if i recall correctly, it was based on paytable, noise level and comfort. but, when quizzed, i think he acknowledged, he would likely skip the machine with the recent big payout.

The one without the overweight old bald guy smoking a cigar anywhere near the machine. Or the one with a pretty lady with a nice smile sitting right next to it. Hey wait a minute..... its my wife

Casinos usually play off big wins so the machine doesn't sit empty waiting for a brave soul to play it.
I have my own criteria for selecting my machine. I'm not sure what I'd do if the machine I picked had a Royal Flush just sitting there. Maybe sit there until the shift change and try to claim it?

Yes, interesting question. I would be too pessimistic about squeezing anymore juice out of the 99 and claim the 95. With my BR I would last until a quad.

I know this will probably open up a can of worms. Back when I used to play DDB I would intentionally choose to play machines that had produced a jackpot. Many times I would watch a player hit a big quad and leave the machine. If possible, I would move to that seat. This has produced a number of nice wins for me including one $4,000 royal. My logic was quads run in groups.

I haven't played DDB in a long time, so I don't do this now. If I hit a royal or a quad deuce on a machine now, I stay where I am.

I still find that particularly on Deuces Wild that nice hands seem to come in bunches.

I find that too. Some Vegas trips I'm just not hitting. Other trips they come in waves.

Of course, I don't play much and those "bunches" come across different machines and different casinos.

Something tells me they aren't all hooked up to a magical destiny number generator linked to my DNA. I think it's just random chance along with our tendency to better remember these bunches (and the long streaks without them).
