Down twelve percent in April according to the New London Day. IMO the slide will continue as they continue ro chase away their most loyal patrons with poor paytables, removing vp machines, reducing comps, and the market approaching a near saturation point.

Your gloating is visible through the screen. Justifiably, given your current and prior points. It probably won't pick up now. MS and FW not the greatest summer venues. AC sister does promos nonstop in a wildly competitive environment.

Here's an idea. Let's build another casino in the Northeast...

Ya Phil is right. FW and MS are both being hurt by competition.

Lots of people think more casinos are good for customers. They use Vegas as an example. In order to get new casinos approved, tax payers must be sold a benefit. Casino developers cut deals with local governments that take a big chunk out of the gambling profits. Vegas was built on gambling, so they don't have as much of this to contend with.

A little competition is good. Too much and casinos start having problems like you are seeing in the northeast. It's fun to talk about beating the casino. Is this what you really want? If casinos give away too much, they close their doors and turn into empty shopping malls.

The Mohegan Sun is especially vulnerable. It's beautiful, but overbuilt for the revenue it produces. It's too big. They should rent golf carts so people can get around. Who wants to go to a huge shopping mall to gamble? I haven't been to a mall in ten years. Everything I want to buy is on the Internet and they bring it to my door.

There are bigger issues to contend with. Most younger players don't have the disposable income their parents have. They are also used to getting their entertainment for free. Seniors are the life blood of casino gambling. They have the time and the money. They are also looking for things to do with their friends. A senior looking for a few hours of entertainment could care less about odds. If the casino gives them a free lunch or a blender, most are happy.

Today's casinos are not funding anyone's great lifestyle. Lower odds and less comps are the new reality. Players should get used to it or find something else to do with their money.

Have to agree Foxwoods is huge and their overhead is incredible. I wouldnt be surprised to see both Ct casinos reduced to bingo halls again someday and the rest of the property sold off or used for theme parks, convention centers, or even time share condos. I think both casinos must see by now their future isn’t in gambling revenue. The millenials for the most part aren’t interested in gambling. The penny machines for now attract their fair share of mostly blue collar locals and unfortunately people on welfare or disability incomes. As their money dries up and us seniors aren’t mobil anymore or worse, gambling as we know it today will vanish imo. They still have a big Asian market in Ct, but many of them get here on buses. When and if another casino is built in Bridgeport, the Asian gamblers will stop there saving another hour and a half drive

yes good point about the Bridgeport casinos being much closer to nyc ,Chinatown and flushing.it will probably cut off 80% of the traffic that would be headed to Mohegan sun in Uncasville !
