This is no surprise to me. 5 percent or so for Mohegan Sun over the same period in 2018 and even more for Foxwoods. They cite increased competition. I say its from chasing your regular players like myself away due to decreased comps especially rooms. I also predict August and September results will be even worse. My play is off by at least 80 percent. I used to greet between 10 and 20 regular vp players on a trip. Now I am lucky if I see one or two. Just like a restaurant that cuts quality, portions, and raises prices. It never works and it never will.

As you have stated, raising prices and reducing rewards (or, in the case of restaurants, food quantity and quality) is a guaranteed road to failure. Yet, many of the so-called geniuses running casinos cannot seem to grasp this rather simple concept. The result looks good on them.

Old Vegas was a unique time and place. Before US became Casino Nation.

How can two casinos only 15 minutes apart be run so differently. As I have posted before, Mohegan sun has pulled all of my comp rooms going forward even mid week. I’ve only given them 1,000,000 to 2,000,000 coin in every year for the past 10 years and a good chunk of it before that. So Foxwods has my business now. It’s not my favorite casino to play in, but just as a comparison the Mrs. and I stayed there last evening. We got there very late but I called them ahead of time to give them a heads up. When we got there, the manager came out from the back to greet us at the hotel front desk. He gave us the penthouse on the top floor. It was beautiful and had to be close to 4000 ft.² the views were spectacular. Even the elevator to the penthouse didn’t make any stops on the way down. Anyway we played several hours and I think I only ran about 5000 through the machines. We didn’t have any luck but did enjoy the beautiful but short stay. I would’ve liked to have stayed well into the following afternoon meaning today, but had to get home to be with my dad who is now in assisted-living. Just as an aside, the Fox Tower Hotel formally the MGM hotel it’s all smoke free now. The gaming floors can still be quite smoky and that’s why we play in the middle of the night. Even then, one cigarette near me especially a bad brand can give me an instant headache. I think eventually the casinos around the country will all be smoke-free as more and more information keeps coming out. The latest ofcourse being about vaping.

In AC, casinos two minutes apart are routinely run quite differently. I’m quite sure that Ocean has rescinded my Platinum status. I felt like a VIP while it lasted. But my results were more RIP status. I’ll still stroll up for the exercise and two buck gourmet tacos.

Now those sound good. I know its off topic , but I make mine with my moms original meatball mix of beef, pork, and veal. Add some Spanish rice as a side dish. and I’m in. It’s so easy to make. Long grain brown rice, medium chunky salsa, scallions, and sliced black olives.

FAA, Where at Ocean and when are the $2 tacos? Gold Tooth Gertie"s at Bally's has $1 hot dogs.

But the GTG dogs are utter garbage. I prefer a White House Subs run. Go to Ocean with Bally’s voucher to avoid the dollar machines and poor odds quarters. It’s an especially dangerous VP casino.
