It’s their business model. Casino reminds you all the time to lure you back in all kinds of ways - mailers, goofy rewards, emails, text messages from the sorry hosts.
Casino host is the most condemned job. I curse them every time when I see a message. Now they don’t dare send me any more.

Casinos assign you hosts, whether you want/need one or not. Because I am not chasing useless comps, I ignore them . . . that's been discussed already in another thread.hophoofer wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2020 10:17 pmIt’s their business model. Re: casinos want your business - - - here is an example of not understanding their "business model" :
My daughter visited me in Vegas recently, and won over $19,000 on VP at one casino. A month later, she is receiving mailers for free play/food/rooms from a competitor here. Though she has a player's card from this competitor, she didn't play there (no, it's not just another casino in the corporate chain).

I will never understand their bean counting business models. Us regular higher limit players in Ct have been pretty much driven away from either playing altogether or have switched to much lower denomination games. Comp rooms have dried up on weekends and many weekdays. Other things gave been reduced or eliminated. Both Ct casinos continue to bleed revenue month after month. Serious vp players like myself and others run from 1m to 5 m each through the machines per year. They make a nice 1 percent to 4 percent on us every year Why they want to give up that nice 50k to 200k per year per serious vp player is beyond me.

i would have to go back to my email box and check seperate dates where i have lost, just seems funny how caesars,Trop and resorts bombarded me with e mails after a nice loss last week e mails were almost all side by side maybe even within 5hours within eachother as if they had wind of my action on mondayDougJ wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 6:49 pmCasinos assign you hosts, whether you want/need one or not. Me neither. When you ask them: which is better for the casino - 0.8% of $50,000 of play, or 2% of zero play, they look at you as if they are incapable of even thinking of that concept.olds442jetaway wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 9:37 pmI will never understand their bean counting business models. Otherwise casino would lower the house edge.

Most all of the bigger players play 99 percent games. With errors, sticky buttons, fatigue, playing too fast etc,etc My guess is the true return is close to 98 percent. So if 2 million a year is cycled through, that still leavs 40,000 for the casino. An average slot player who goes once a week for a year and stays until he or she dumps their 200 bucks into the machine and goes home will leave about 10,000 a year with the casino. If I ran the casino, I would take the higher limit vp player’s business any day of the week. Guess they feel differently.
